nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Jul 24, 2009 Bottle at Cantillon in Brussels. Nice hazy orangish-golden color with a white head. Aroma of white grapes, funk, barrel, and a hint of sweet malt. Flavor is champagne, muscat, light unripe fruits, and funk. Sour in general but slightly sweet on the finish. Fairly dry on the palate. One of the best fruit lambics I’ve had. Hansen (2235), Randers, Denmark Jul 21, 2009 Don’t know if I ever going to be a fan of lambics. Orange colour and unclear. White head, mostly diminishing. Acidic aroma, sulfur too. Flavor is heavy to harsh acidic. Dry texture. A bit astringent. Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Jul 19, 2009 1997 Bottling provided by Dickinsonbeer. Pours a hazy amber with a nice white head. Smells funky and restrained with some wine grapes shining through. Tastes dry and perfumy with a nice tarte funky acidic quality on the finish. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 18, 2009 Cloudy yellow. No head. Smelll is tart and grape. Taste is funk and lemon. Apparantly I thought this was pretty decent. Anker (305), Hillerød, Denmark Jul 16, 2009 Bottle shared by Andreasen11.
Pouring a hazy yellow with a nice small head.
The aroma is quite "sharp" with acidic, humid cellar, grape and dim grapes notes.
The flavour is very dry with notes of grape, wood, humid cellar and acidic grapes with a slightly sweet hint (dry white wine alike)
Nicely balanced. travita (1861), Frisco, Texas, USA Jul 15, 2009 The look is a cloudy golden range color and has a lacy white head. The smell is funky, tart, fruits, sour, and grapes. The taste is sour, funk, wood, tart, and fruit. plovmand (1590), Helsinge, Denmark Jul 15, 2009 Bottle. Unclear yellow with a white medium head. Light dusty aroma, citrus, grapes, light mint and acid. Flavour is tart grapes, fruit, acid and some wood. Very dry mouthfeel. Nice one. daknole (2810), Plantation, Florida, USA Jul 13, 2009 Bottle opened at Diegos tasting. First thing I noticed about his beer was that it smelled a lot like some wines I have had. Muscat aromas are very nice in this. Along with some light tartness, lemon notes and some wet wood. Flavor is tart but not crazy sour. Very fruity and a bit funky too. I liked this very much. A very mild beer as far as Cantillon is considered.
