2009 Vintage - opened last night
Wow, this had such a cloudy appearance and a beautiful nose of the grapes and barnyard funk. The sourness was definitely present, but not as forward as some of the others I’ve had. Another phenomenal beer by Cantillon!

2011 bottle, 05/12/2013. Pours clear, brilliant golden orange, fizzy white head fades quickly to an almost still surface. Aroma has oak, sweet white grapes, peach, honey, nice barnyard finish. Taste is sweet, tart white grapes, grapefruit juice, acidic citrus notes, a little vanilla, oaky funk. Low carbonation, but coats the mouth well. Really nice, should be drinking more of this.

750ml bottle from De Bierkoning in Amsterdam. Pours a lightly hazed, deeper golden colored body with a thin, fizzy, off-white head that dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing. Aroma is funky and musty with a nice white grape and grapefruit sourness. Slightly acidic and oaky as well. Flavor is similar. Funky, woody, and musty up front before lots of juicy citrus grapefruits and white grapes come in. A slight malty sweetness in the middle before this finishes very dry, woody, and a bit acidic before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Light body and a soft, light, active carbonation. Overall, a really nice fruit lambic. Very dry, but pretty fruity and juicy with a nice funky must throughout. Great beer.

75cl bottle.
Appearance: cloudy blonde beer, unstable head.
Nose: lemon, wine, little acidity.
Taste: white wine, it reminds me a lot of a sparkling champagne, very nice beer.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Gueuzerie (5) - - APR 5, 2013 does not count
Compleja.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2013 Peach colour. Aroma of pencil shavings (the oak aging) and funk. Taste is sour, slight fruit, and lemon citric. Definitely the least interesting Cantillon I’ve had, but still tasty.
