3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jrallen34 (3445) - Chicago, USA - MAR 27, 2011
The beer bours a murky gold with light head, looks like a typical gueze.
The aroma is on the lighter side which is surprising for a lambic, light tartyness not funk dominates. The finish is light oak and grass.
The taste starts off nice, a little sweet on the front then some nice tartness, easy to drink to start. You can really tell they used grapes here as it is very similar to drinking white wine, a pinot grigio and sauvigon blacn. I really liked this beer to start but the more I drank the less I liked it. The finish is very pronounced and gives off a very weird oak/grass almost scotch like finish. Its very distracting, too much alcohol.
The feel is light and warm. It starts off drinkable then fades as the alcohol finish becomes more pronounced.

Bottled sample. Gold in colout with strong carbonation. Bigtime funky aroma, backed by some fresh mozzarella, lemon zest, wood, and flowers. Flavours are of lemon, driftwood, funk, and a bit of fleshy and floral white grape. Medium bodied, but quite acidic and sour. More like a suped-up geuze than a fruit lambic. Either way, it’s a really good beer.

Tap at MikkellerBar thanks to Urbain. Shared with the Struise crew for epic late night CBC after party. Cloudy peach pour with low bubbles. Nose is fresh peach. Very juicy with vanilla. Taste is saltwater, quenching peach juice, acetic/lactic blend. Quite aggressively sour. Very refreshing and bright.

Draught (Chez Moeder Lambic, Brussels) - Hazy golden in colour. Grapes, musty lambic and lemon feature in the aroma. Sharp, tart and fruity taste with the grapes being noticeable, but fairly subtle. The familiar Cantillon lemon notes can be detected in the dry finish.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 RoyceH (1153) - Hesperange, LUXEMBOURG - APR 29, 2012
Bottle, mi orge, mi houblon. Hazy yellow to light caramel colour. Nose is fresh, sour lambic, clean and white blossom and pollen. Mouth is soft, sour, clean and fresh with lemon, fresh grape sourness, with a lasting sweet powderyness. Slightly metallic end. Lovely clean beer.

Finally drinking this mother. Hazy yellow gold with orange hues, thin white cap. Awesome aroma: punch in the face meanness of cheesy funk and the like. Grapes, dirty leather, distant smell of rubber and empty shoe boxes askew at Woolco, merengue foam, oily lemon, old farm fence, yum! The flavour is very tasty with plenty of sour going on, light vinegar, sour ass lemon, grapes, light leather, sharp spice that lingers, not a lot of depth but when isn’t a Cantillon not tasty? Bread finish along with the usual hard sourness.

'09 courtesy of vertical bacon strips. Hazy yellow with no head. Aroma is lemon and spices. Grandma's dark basement corner of old knitted tea cloths. Taste is absolute bitter, underripe grape. Tastes "blue" colour. Slight vinegar. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Sophisticated fresh sour aroma. Crystal clear in appearance with silvery bubbles. Taste is sour and floral and refreshing. This is not a sweet fruit lambic, but it’s a refreshing sour that I enjoy a lot.
