On tap @ Sherwood Pub, Nicorvo, Italy. Itís amazing how this drink dug in some taste memories of mine. Poured an absolutely gorgeous golden-orange with a fluffly off-white foam. I could feel the same smell you can find in many basements were they keep wine here where I live, some leather and, last but very present, the rhubarb note, very balsamic, with hints of honey and lemon. Really impressive. At the first taste I could feel the back of my jaw almost aching for the carbonation and the acidity, just like with fizzy candies, then it got really pleasant, the rhubarb/balsamic note mellowing the classic lemony lambic acidity. Very light in body, leaves your mouth dry and craving for more. I really hope it becomes a regular, Iím not a big fan of sour beers, but everyone liked it.

Pale yellow colour. Nice white head. Acidic, flowery, grassy, complex aroma. Intensive barnyard, horseblanket at the beginning. Oakiness, white wine in the middle. Woody and sour finish. Probably one of the best geuzes I have tasted. Competes definitely with 3 Fonteinen Golden Blend. Has some complexity which comes only with age.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2016 Zwanze 2012 at the brewery. I dont even know what rhubarb is, so it was confusing to me. But its Cantillon and really great brew.

Bottle - Zwanze 2012. Initially pours a clear golden yellow with a thin mostly lasting foamy white head. Aroma of hay, white grapes, citrus, apricots. Taste is of white grapes, lemon, tart, loads of rhubarb on the finish. Medium to hard carbonation, light oily mouthfeel.

This is that beer. The one youíve had before and every time you have it you have no idea what to expect. It can be anything in between mind blowing and "good." lots of bottle variation here, but Iíve found that the labeled bottles taste better than the unlabeled ones. Not sure why that is, but the horse blanket is strong with this one.

At Cantillon. Bottle labeled "Z12". Hazy golden with white head. Apricot, sea buckthorn, rhubarb, hay, wood. Sour and salty/mineral. Very subtle fizzy carbonation.

Bottle shared at Cantillon as Zwanze 2012. Slight hazy golden with short lasting white head that leaves some super small cute bubbles. Light funk and hay, cheese, light almonds, a bit mineral. Rhubarb, fresh apricots and sour berries but not too overpowering. Medium sour with light bitterness and a touch of salt. Medium bodied with sparkly carbonation. Very good.

Rated as Zwanze 2012. Pours a hazy yellowish with a lasting, White head. Aroma has a lot of tart, unripe rhubarb, floral, hard candy, rabarbergrød, straw, Cheese. Taste is sour and fruity up front, slight vanilla, and then it gets really grainy with straws and a grainy dryness. Dusty. Not a huge fan of the amounts of grain in this one. High carbonation, dry acidic body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ Cantillon as Zwanze 2012. Pours hazy orange with a medium white head. Aroma is damn funky, citrus, green apples, cheesy, floral. Taste is cheesy, hay, mold, grainy, citrus, orange, rhubarb tartness, oak. Pretty weird.

Big funk, barnyard, hay, woody, with a big refreshing rhubarb spark to it, a bit citrus reminiscent with heavy damp flavors, very interesting aroma. Taste is one of the more sour cantillons, with a nice evened out rhubarb flavor that is spot on, and ends with a drying funk note. This is great.
