From draft, of hazy pale yellow color with a thin off white head. Aroma of malts and fruits, lemons and grass. Flavors of malts and citrus fruits, lemons, and straw. Low carbonation, light bitterness and sweetness.
A very mild brew, easy to drink and refrshing.

In bottle at the 21st Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation. Pours a slightly hazy light golden colour with a fair white head. Aroma of elderflowers, heather honey, horse blanket, lemon and oak. Similar flavours and a little tart with lingering musty yeast. Moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dunt (90) - Illinois, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Bottled provided by thetomG. Light orange in color, light cloudy with about a half fingers worth of champagne-like white head. Nose is sweet, earthy, and liightly funky. Flavor is less wit forward than I remember, it’s actually pretty balanced now. Light mouthfeel, some acidity, decent carbonation. Had gotten better with some age, still not close to my favorite Cantillon.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 KickInChalice (771) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 12, 2012
From notes. First reviewed 10/23/2011. Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a tulip. Thanks to Dunt for bringing out this hard to find bottle.
The appearance is that of a standard wit beer. A hazy golden color with a thin white froth.
This has a mild aroma. Wheat, some light lemon zest tart notes, a little bit of funk.
Unfortunately, this tastes like a watery gueuze. Light wheat malt, some light white grape and lemon tart notes, tart and a little funky at the end.
The body is light and watery. Somehow the 4.0% alcohol dried out the body and watered down the flavor. It has an oily residue I don’t particularly care for.
Zwanze 2010 has a light flavor, light body, and a slight oily flowery flavor that is not that good. Kind of disappointing out of Cantillon.

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2012 Hazy gold in color with thick white head. Nice mellow musty aroma. Mellow, rounded with light tart hints.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 cpetrone84 (719) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 30, 2012
Pour is a golden amber color with a creamy white head that lingers for quite some time. The nose is huge of cob web, cellar musk, and an earthy dust. There is a citrus hop behind that does a pretty solid job balancing the funk. The taste is all over the place. Dusty cellar and cob webs, plant root, earthy dirty and some citrus hops all play around seperately and it lacks integration. Medium body, lower carb and creamy feel. A bit flabby, the earthy root flavors and citrus don’t fit together. Carb is too low and there is some malt sweetness that seems to creep up.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 wedgie9 (1441) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 29, 2012
Tasted on Zwanze Day 2011 at Holy Grale. Pours cloudy light orange with a thick white head that slowly recedes to a thin layer of lace. The nose is lightly creamy with some herbal and vegetal aromas, quite funky, with a bit of some sour acidity and a nice hit of vanilla oak. The flavor is more sour, but still very funky with the same herbal and vegetal notes and some vanilla oak. The body is light with smooth, creamy carbonation, and a long, tannic, oaky, tart, and funky finish.

Served from a bottle on Zwanze day at Monk’s. I had this on-tap at Monk’s as well...
A - Pours hazy yellow, with hints of orange around the edges, with a nice one finger tall white head leaving light lace down the glass. Very nice pour.
S - Smells of strong lemon zest, apples, bready wheat, wet hay, light spice, and the ever present barnyard funk. This nose was a littler better than the last time I had it.
T - Starts off with a big fruity twang up front; mostly lemon and sour apples; slowly giving way to a mix of chewy wheat, fresh cut grass, damp basement funk, and some light peppery spice. The finish is dry with some light funkiness, lingering on the pallet for a short period of time.
M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Crisp, light, feel with the perfect amount of carbonation. Even with all those strong flavors it remained easy to drink.
O - Very good. I had this one on-tap about a month ago at Monk’s and it was very good, but I think I prefer it from the bottle. The fruit really came through this time and it really helped round things out. Another winner here.

Oh well, perhaps not very fair.. I was expecting a true colors lambic and got a wild ale. Hence the rather low rating
