2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2014 One of my least favorite Cantillon offerings, probably because it’s not a lambic and instead has this weird sweet fruit/bitter rind combo flavor that I couldn’t get into. Pass.

Decent to solid. Ish. Amirite guys? I missed Zwanze Day ’13 due to a severe case of scheduling confusion, but i tried this recently and the results were there. Would drink this again, for sure. Just enough horse blanket and funk to keep it on the radar. Love it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
At Cantillon. Clear copper with thin white head. White raisins, rye, light spices, basil, green leaves. Sour with syrupy sweetness and hoppy bitterness. A bit too many strong flavors in the palate. Body is thin to medium. Carbo is very low. The bitterness, sweetness and sourness are a bit struggling to go along well. The bitterness leaves a bit of a stale finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at Cantillon. Very slight hazy amber with off white head. Light sweet malts, caramel and soft rye notes. Green leaves, hay, light funk and herbs. Then there’s some white wine notes with white raisins, light peach and gooseberries. Light sweet, sour and bitter in almost equal amounts. Medium bodied with sparkly carbonation.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Cantillon. Pours an almost clear amber with a small, off White head. Aroma has lots of caramel malts, dates, tartness and funk, vanilla, oak. Taste is sour, leathery, still fairly sweet and caramelish. Not very complex, but very different. Harsh and leathery. AVG. Carb, oily body. Not very good.

@ Cantillon 15-10-30: Stor doft av trä. Smaken är inte alls syrlig, men med lite källartonar och torkat frukt.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma of hay, caramel, a bit of banana-bubblegum, with a nice lambic undertone, the tripel part of it seems to overtake it a bit, and feels slightly oxidized. Very different and nice beer, but the refreshing notes seem to have disappeared, and leaves more of a heavier, but not so full on tasting beer.
