2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2014 One of my least favorite Cantillon offerings, probably because itís not a lambic and instead has this weird sweet fruit/bitter rind combo flavor that I couldnít get into. Pass.

Bottle at cantillon, an odd mix of flavors, heavy triple, malts, yeast and lambic barnyard, a very unique mix

Tap. Pours hazy and deep golden body with a small white head. Aroma of grapefruit, brett, barnyard, funk and caramel notes. Medium bodied, watery to oily texture and average carbb. Sour flavor that ends up dry and tart. An excellent Sour

75cl, as Abbaye de Cureghem, no mention of ABV, new exclusive blended brew Anno 2013, thx alot to Secret Santa!, very complex sour brew, woody/sour/fruity and slightly malty/bitter, balanced, cloudy, good head, very good brew, yet very expensive!

Keg @ Moeder and bottle @ the brewery. Since I had the beer at Zwanze last year it has really gone for a pleasant ride. Malty, earthy and abbey yeasty more than tart, sour and funky. When it opens up after some airing you are allowed into the inner circle where the sourness is allowed and you find room for development. Is aging well.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy gold amber body with creamy small head. Aroma has a lot of fruits, mostly berries, caramel, strawberries. Taste has light sourness, blackberries, astringent on the tongue, malty sweetness support. Body is full, medium carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From notes. Draft during the Zwanze Day 2013 event at ChurchKey. Pours a dark reddish brown with off-white head. Aromas of tart fruit, vinegar, funk, citrus. Tasting notes of tart fruit, sour notes, vinegar, some bitterness, grapefruit citrus. Medium body with a dry finish. Probably my least favorite Cantillon that Iíve had, the tripel/lambic thing didnít really work for me.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught AND bottled try Medium, dense head, off-white over fully hazy, orange-amber beer. Strange UFOís in the bottled version. Rather spicy, horseblanket, old lambic and old grains or ditto cookies, wet wood. Lambic, but mildly so, lemon and other citrus (orangerind?). Thereís a faint bitterish-spicy thread, nowhere disturbing, just making it interesting. Brett/lambic attenuation - says it all. Feels more carbonated than it looks. Bone dry as befits any Cantillon product. Interesting... in the GOOD sense of the word. Merci pour la bouteille Jean. Le fŻt se trouvait qques heures plus tard @ Moeder Lambic...

Sampled at Zwanze Day 2013 celebration @ Alewife NYC. A very interesting, earthy brew with more yeastiness than sour. Slight funk on the palate. A curiosity, enjoyable to try during the festivities.
