This is NOT a good brew... The pour is pale golden-straw. A TERRIBLE skunk aroma permeates the entire room (no exaggeration). There is a very small flavor contingency for such an obtuse aroma. I do detect corn notes with a nasty TRY at a peppered-hop back. The mouthfeel is extremely cheap and watery. This is a TERRIBLE brew, even for the Miller Brewing Company. My deepest condolences to those who bought this thinking that the new "Pura Cerveza" marketing campaign made this a decent beer. Itís pretty awful.

Terrible beer. Drop the name beer & call it a brewed beverage. Major draino material

That clear bottle really kept the sunlight out of this one. This one is extremely pale looking like a glass of dirty water. A grassy and corn aroma. The flavor is rather foul with some boiled corn and lemons. A big ol skunk and DMS party. This blows.

Aroma of cardboard (Bland cardboard).Amazingly pale looking colour. Is it beer or water? Flavour of cardboard with a fizz quicker. A bit of cloying sweetness at the end. Overall a truely awful beer. I should have guessed it was bad by the cheap price. Seems to have a KFC greasiness about it as well which lasts and lasts.

Hop pepper malt aroma. Palte yellow colour with poor head and lacing. Hop malt flavour with a dash of pepper. Flat palate.

(12 oz bottle: BevMo in La Jolla, CA) Bottle number four of the Beers Of The World gift pack. I donít know what it is with these El Salvador beers, but all three of them have had nasty dark particles floating in them. Appearance wise, about the only thing different with this offering is there is a massive army of carbonation bubbles rising at record levels through the beer. I mean, this is crazy, Iíve never seen so many bubbles in a beer, and itís showing no signs of diminishing. Clear, medium straw colored body is capped by a persistent, white head, but certainly the rising mass of bubbles is what is mostly responsible for keeping the head alive. Very little in the way of aroma initially, just some mild grain, but once a little head space is cleared out, the cardboard is unmistakeable. And in the flavor, itís simply overwhelming. Rather than showing the standard cheap graininess, the finish on this one seems more bready in nature, but regardless, this is just horrible stuff. Light bodied and much less carbonated than one would have thought based on the visuals. Visuals are the only positive with this beer, as the creamy head is still going strong and there is actually some patchy lacing on the glass. I simply cannot believe how bad these Latin American beers are. BMCs seem light-years ahead in terms of quality, how sad is that?! Three ounces of this swill is about all I can stand.

Crystal cler golden colour body with a super-thin white head. Aroma of pale malt, cardboard & light malt and some funky sugars. Aftertaste shows some funk but nothing harsh. Overall, a pretty bad beer-but not the worst. Thanks Jon! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle pulled from a íWorldí 12 pack on 31-May-2005.

Well done highlandlad. As one of my nominated beer buddies you located this for me. We must have had this about the same time, menaing another shipment of evil Latin American beer has hit our shores. So what do you say about a beer that is going to emulate a Corona? I checked my rating for that beer and came up with some rant about Mexican food and its equally unexceptional cuisine. All I can be happy about is that I have added another country.

It doesnít much matter what a beer geek thinks about this beer because weíre not the market. Nonetheless, this is a pale beer by any measure. Itís about as pale a gold as a beer can be and pours with a short now-you-see-it-now-you-donít head that leaves a thin rim of foam. The clear glass guarantees plenty of skunk in the aroma. There is also popcorn and wet dog. A neat trifecta of offensive beer odours. In fact, this smells so much like a CUB lager that it just might catch on in Australia. The flavour is as pale as the colour. Yep, itís Corona all over again. Spritzy body. Itís all sugar, plastic, soggy cardboardy malt and barely a hint of hop in the swallow. Distressingly, it developed faecal notes, which is a first in my experience. Of course, I bought this for a country rating for El Salvador but this is the kind of experience that makes you wonder if you arenít one of the biggest mugs on the planet. (355ml bottle, Vintage Cellars, bb March 2006)
