This is an IPA made with Pilsner malt, Amber malt and a dash of rye malt. The amber malt gives it a nice nutty flavour and a slight toastiness. The rye adds a bit of a peppery taste. On top of this it´s hopped with Amarillo and Simcoe. This IPA will be an excellent pairing with Indian or Mexican food.

Hm, den var överraskande god! Bra fruktighet samtidigt hyfsat tryck i beskan. Inte extrem, utan snarare bara en rakt på ipa.

Clear bronze colour with an uneven white head. Aroma is ashes and cheese. Taste is quite bitter and not a whole lot else. Incredibly unbalanced.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 6.0%. Slightly hazy orange colour, huge to large white head. Fairly sharp aroma of woody and resinous hops, a hint of smoke and ashes. The flavour seems unbalanced, some sweetness followed by sharp bittering hops. My bottle was not as fresh as it ought to be, but I doubt that this would be a great beer anyway.

Bottle from Shinanoya close to Shinbashi station. Pours clear, slight amberish hue and sparingly foamy head that is rushing to disappear in a few short minutes. Aroma fails to hit me with crazy happiness - it is more mature, has some bread malt character to it and yes, some fruity Amarillo coming out at the end also. Taste, hover, is mainly about hops. There is a bit of bitter spiciness somewhere as well but overall this beer feels stronger than it is, mainly because of all the hop oils. Unfortunately this sort of unbalances the beer, 6% is a bit weak for this load of hops. But not bad, cures your cravings for hops in no time.

Grumlig och halvljus. Blommig och frisk doft. Rejäl beska, ger ett lite obalanserad intryck. Sträv ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Flaska från SB. Grape, citrus, karamell och blommig doft. Sträv beska som inte direkt hetsar upp en. Lätt pepprig och blommig i smaken.

The new batch is the best so far, made at Caps own brewery. Mattias Hammenlind have made the Exciter even more exciting.

330ml bottle. Clear copper dark color with a fluffy white head. Aroma of yeast, root cellar, candies and red berries. Immediate hoppy flavor, spices, butter, candy, gummi bears and some sweetness. Medium bodied body that is low carbonated.

Aroma is on the lower side of hops and contains bready malts as well as some hay and herbals. It smells robust. The taste also brings more of the rye ingredients, so after the first floral sensation, you get a slightly nut and pepper feeling to it. This is the kind of IPA you have when you don’t want to get to excited, and are looking for a more solid and mature kind of IPA, but still don’t want to head towards the classic old style IPA’s.
