Bottle courtesy of thaichile. Drak copper with nice off-white head. Aroma rather muted toasted grain, with faint caramel. Flavor again all toasted malt with some bittering hops towards the finish. Easy drink, just really nothing going on.

Hazy dark golden color with a thin covering of off-white head. Has an earthy sweet caramel malty aroma. Body starts with a touch of sweet toasty malt and a decent bittering earthy hoppy balance. Finishes lightly sticky and bittersweet. A drinkable, ok beer.

kramer (4681) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 3, 2006
12 oz bottle, via Thaichile. Pours an orangish copper body under a one finger craggy off-white head. Aroma is mostly a general graininess with some toasted and a little biscuity malt. Fairly light in flavor with some biscuity malt under a moderately bitter hoppiness. Finish is short and moderately bitter. Lighter bodied and a little thin with active carbonation. An OK, but unexciting, "Amber".

Poured a hazy copper color with a small light beige head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, and fruit. Had phenolic notes. Sweet malty caramel flavor. Light bitter finish is semi-dry.

As everyone put it, a decent beer but nothing to write home about. Pours with little head, slightly lucid beer with an orange tint. The taste had nothing distinguishable neither did the aroma.

(02.22.06) 12 oz brown bottle received as gift in a trade with Thaichile. Yeast conditioned bottle only 75% full with about 3” head space. Slight gusher on pouring. Pours hazy amber with small white head. Soft carbonation. Juicy fruit esters on nose. Light-to-medium bodied amber ale that starts dry with wisp of malt sweetness and light malt flavor. Slight sharpness on mouth. Finishes dry with light nutty malt and bitterness fade. Slight metallic aftertaste. Thin, watery flavored, overly dry, and lacking complexity. No discernable oxidation products, despite large head space. Borderline drinkable. Maybe an old bottle?

(Bottle) Cloudy amber with off-white head. Rotten egg aroma. Some sloppy lacing. Dryish mouthfeel. Tastes fairly bitter up front, then some maltiness. Not really objectionable but pretty mediocre.

On tap at The Great Lost Bear in Portland, ME:
Interesting caramel maltiness coalesces with the peachy fruitiness...The hops’ soapiness detract from their citrusy fruitiness...Well-rounded, with a low but prickly carbonation, a simple, run-of-the-mill amber ale...

I admit that amber ale isn’t my favorite style, and I suppose this was par for the course. Nice color, subdued malt sweetness, subdued hoppiness. Nothing to hate, but not a lot to get excited about. Like every other amber ale I’ve ever tried.

UPDATED: AUG 29, 2006 Light brownish-amber color with a cream-colored head. Sweet, mallty with slightly cereal flavor. MIld aroma of malt and hops. Mildly hoppy finish. Slight amount of yeast flocuation at the bottom of the glass.
