Pours with a two-finger off-white head that fades quickly leaving a little lace. Cloudy amber color. Medium bodied and medium carbonation. Slight hoppy nose. Starts as with a mix of hops and background sweetness, finishes hoppy with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. $1.35 for a 12 oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, MA.

Bottle, from Julio’s. Good nose, Little nutty, little grassy, little sourdough. Just a touch of haze, reddish orange color, small head that faded. Bitter sweet flavors, same as aromas, little carmel and metallic too. Thinner body, lite creamy kinda oily mouthfeel. nutty bitter finish. Easy drinking amber lager. Nothing origanal, but a good lawnmower brew.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2006 GIBF 2004: Hazy dark orange with a medium creamy head. Light grassy hops aroma, with some caramel malts, starts and ends lightly bitter, fizzy and watery texture.

Dang! This beer is really strong. I had it from a bottle in Gloucester and saw it on tap in Magnolia. It seems to be a fairly typical strong porter-like lager. Nutty, with a caramel-colored head, which quickly dissipates. This is an OK beer to drink very slowly (as with dinner) and not one to have a couple of during the game. Go Sox!

Tap at GIBF. Malty aroma with hints of caramel and some metallic notes. Maybe some pine notes as well. Mildly hazy honey color with a light tan head. Quite malty to start with some caramel and smoked hints. Nice bitter hoppy finish. Nice beer.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2005 2004 draught @ Ithaki. Looks the part, good mix of browns and ambers, quite bright with a small white head. Aroma of very light brown malts, hints of sugar and a good dose of bitter hops. Flavor is very hoppy up front with some touches of caramel towards the finish, but it never really brings enough malt and you get a dry, almost metallic finish that is too bitter and just seems like another average APA. Medium body, somewhat watery on the finish. It’s drinkable enough, but quite unspectacular.

Tap @ Barcade. Cloudy ornage color with no real head. Taste is dank, almost like wet forest floor. Birch, seasalt and oyster shells. Funky bitterness. Kind of grows on you towards the end of the pint.

GABF 2004. Light yellow-orange, slightly hazy, with small, fizzy and quickly diminishing head. Very light, grainy aroma. Don’t let your mind wander, or you will miss this short-lived, lightly sweet flavor. Thin bodied, watery, and weak. The worst of the beers I tried at GABF.
