Pours copper with a nice white head. Smells of some strawberries, hay, some earthiness. Tastes of citrus, nutty, some caramel, some peppery hints. Finish is lasting and sweet.

Bottle:   Amberish, a bit hazy, thin sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Soft grassy nose, slight biscuit.   Notes of caramel, soft soil, grains, and toasted malts on the tongue.   Seems pretty clean too.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Seems more hearty than your normal Vienna, darker, and with more caramel.   Better than expected.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Amber colour with brief, beige head. Malty, bready nose with ryvita, caramel and spicy hops. Malty taste with notes of brown bread, citrus peel, toasty vienna style malt and spicy hops in the finish. Medium body, balanced malt sweetness. Medium bitterness. Tasty and spicy vienna style lager.

Deep orange with a slight haze, faint white head. Straightforward sweet and grainy malts completed by a racy floral hop touch. Quite bitter, certainly dry, brings forth slight nutty oiliness, but remains tame in all its componenents. Light bodied, crisp texture. From average to average.

(Rating #1306)

Bottle: Poured with the classic american amber ale appeal ... deep bornze, bubbly and well-headed. The aroma is thick, almost ashy. Wow, what a big body, just like their IPA, this is as chewy as an old piece of gum. The flavor is thick with caramel and candy, Bartlett pear, bit of sugar. Warm. Nice and big for the style. Well done. (#3059, 8/17/2007)

Bottle. Pours an amber body with a light head. Lots of toasted malt with caramel and a light hop finish. No etoh and a bit bland.

Draught. Not too bad, but i guess it was a little unexciting. Some light caramelly sweetness and then a dry-ish, mildly bitter hoppy finish. Quite easy to drink, but not something i would search out.

Poured a translucent amber with orange hues and an active, frothy head that settles to one finger on the top. Aroma is balanced between malt and American hops. Flavor is very similar with yeasty, biscuit notes more reminscent of a Belgian than an American. Mouthfeel and finish were rather fizzy, they may have gone a bit overboard on the carbonation. I’ve had worse, not many though.

Golden pour with hints of red. Light head and lace. Nice caramel malt aroma. Sweet start with a hint of cherriness. A hint of hop bitter on the end. Thin and a bit watery, decent carbonation. Not bad more like an amber ale than at PL.
