On draught at the brewpub back in January. Arrived black with a light brown head. Very pleasant aroma of pumpkin, spices, roasted malt, and molasses. The flavor is even more enchanting than the aroma with ample pumpkin, spices, roasted malt, molasses, and vanilla. My favorite beer of the day at the brewery!

I love a good pumpkin brew and this one delivers for me. Pours black with a tan head and big aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon, and pumpkin. Taste is just the right amount of pumpkin and spices and not overpowering. Body is medium which I wish it was a little bigger, but still a well done beer. Carbonation is a little light as well and getting that up will help a lot.

THOUGHTS: Mostly a very nice imperial stout, but then there are subtle, underlying pumpkin and spice flavors and aromas. The warmer it got the more pumpkin that was. Hid alcohol fairly well. much more spice in the aroma than in the flavor. An imperial stout first and a pumpkin beer second.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a dark brown that was basically opaque black in the glass but with red highlights at the edges and an average tan head that mostly diminished and left barely fair lacing. The aroma had moderate roasted malt, chocolate and coffee; light and fruity pumpkin, slight and increasing underlying, vegetal pumpkin when warmest. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and slightly bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet, lightly bitter and slightly sour with a surprisingly average duration. There was chocolate, roasted malt, a little coffee, chocolate syrup; lightly sweet pumpkin, slightly sour pumpkin, pumpkin pie spices, mores spices and pumpkins. The medium to full body was a little oily with very tingly carbonation and a light to moderately astringent finish.

22oz bomber into a Porter/Stout glass. Pour is black with a fingers width of mocha colored head that dissipated quickly. Aroma is of cloves and other spices, caramel and a little pumpkin. Mouth is full of spice throughout. I get a bit of a boozy aftertaste. Medium to full bodied. Decent.

Pours a motor-oil crimson, with a finger or two of mocha head. Smells of sugary caramel and richly malted barley, with nutty pumpkin muffin and cream frosting. The taste starts rich with sugary malts, a hint of spice, pecan, creamy coffee and full pumpkin flavor. Finishes with a welcoming presence of booze, and the slight bitterness of hops and roasted malts - slightly medicinal. In my personal opinion, this pumpkin beer reigns supreme within its genre, with great balance, imposing uniqueness, and savory character.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2012 Bomber. I enjoyed this as it was more pumpkin and kept the cloves and spices subdued. Dark brown, tall tan head, full body... good balance.

On tap at the Blind Tiger NYC, poured into a tulip glass.
Opaque black color with no head.
Aromas of roasted coffee, toasted bread and faint pumpkin notes.
Dark chocolate flavor, espresso, mellow pumpkin, low-med bitterness.
Med-full body, slightly over carbonated. Interesting but hard to drink.
