22oz bottle: Pours an opaque black with a spotty-lacing froth of beige head. Has a sweet toasty dark caramel and chocolate nose with some pumpkin flesh and a dash of cinnamon and coffee. Starts with good rich caramel and milk chocolate sweetness with some chewy pumpkin flavor and herbal hoppy bitterness before a drier semi-sweet finish. Pretty complex and a unique concept, but could use a little less sweetness and more pumpkin flavor.

Bottle:   Midnight black, large frothy light brown head, fairly nice lacing.   Pretty dark, darker than I would have thought.   Pumpkin spices are actually fairly soft.   Actually seems a bit like roasted pumpkin seed.   On the tongue it is actually has a bit of pumpkin, pumpkin seed, roasted malts, but also and oddly enough... freshly baked pretzels and salt.   Can’t say that about any other beer.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Its less of a stout than I thought.   Lots of pumpkin seed and doughy pretzel like flavors.   Its a bit salty too.   Could stand to be sweeter, to bring out the pumpkin flavors some more.   Really needed more cinnamon and nutmeg to balance it out.   Thanks Jon for the bottle!
