Draught at the Coolidge Corner Clubhouse, Brookline, MA.
Hazy amber colour with tiny white head.
Malt, strong berry hops but not that much bitterness in aroma.
Strong malty body and short fruity bitter hoppiness in flavour. Balanced but not that hoppy.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz into a pint on a 95 degree day in Western Mass. A frothy head from the start that mellow after about 32 seconds. Lingers and is just there after those seconds. Smell is of cider, apples, and not much hops that I prefer my ipas to have. Color is a dark orange tan and seasoned rust. Not a typical ipa color. Taste is flat, carbination is low. this one just doesnt grab me. It resembles a red at times. confusing. Hops kind of muttle around, malts are the big standout here. Taste leaves a lingering apple, not so bitter, refreshing yes, but a solid ipa, no.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a slightly hazy red orange color with a pillowy white head that sticks around for a bit. Smells of citrus, I pick up tangerines, some mineral aromas and some brown sugar and caramel. Taste is malty, mineraly, with a slight citrus hop bite. Some sweet malt is there with more of that brown sugar coming through. Leaves a lingering hop and mineral bite in the dry finish. Mouthfeel is a bit thin as is the body. The carbonation is a bit on the low side I think. Not a bad brew, but their are certainly better IPA’s out there. This one while not flawed is simply unremarkable.

The Dan Journal #448. Tasted 2/26/11. 12oz bottle. Hazy with a orange marmelade, honey, golden hue. Spiraling off-white head. Aromas of grapefruity hops and orange rind. Light to medium bodied and rather hop dominant., albeit mild. Slight grapefruit hops and soggy malts. Just a little light in the body.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Thats a darker IPA, deep amber, bordering on a burnt caramel, moderate off-white head, spotty lacing. Soft hoppy nose, a little dank. Pretty straight forward on the tongue, hoppy, fairly clean, a little citrus peel bite. Seems like an average/solid example. Body and mouthfeel are moderate. A little resiny, with a good amount of citrus bitterness on the backside that sticks to the sides of your tongue. Not as bright as others, but its respectable.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
From the bottle, pours a hazy brownish red with no much of a head. Aroma is rather beer-y, some caramel malt, some earthy notes. Taste is a bit lackluster. Earthy, dirt bitter, a dry bitter, but no good hoppy bitter. I’d say this was disappointing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Out of a growler this IPA is nice amber color. The aroma is flowery and the flavor is mildly bitter. Finishes clean.
