Translucent amber color, little head, thick, and no aroma. Flavor is a huge thick malty prune-like flavor, very wintery, chewy, and slightly smoky. This is a lot bigger than i expected, and seems to actually make me more thirsty than i was before drinking it.

Draft. Pours orange brownish with an off white head. Toasty malty aroma with a light sweetness. The flavor has toasted bread, light roast and chocolate, and some earthy and grainy notes. Pretty good.

How do you make a bad dopplebock?? The aroma is dirt, toasted malt, caramel. The appearance is clear light amber, off white head (even the appearance is off for this style) The flavor is dirt, toasted malt, bread, caramel. The finish is light noble hops. Medium in body. Not good.

Draft @ RFD, Washington DC. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with weak hints of dark fruit. Sweetish fruity malty caramel and dark fruit flavor. Has a sweetish malty caramel finish.

Poured a lightly hazy orangish copper with a tall creamy light tan head. There were some carbonation bubbles rising up in the glass. The aroma was a bready caramel with some dark stone fruit and a hint of orange. The beer had a thicker texture and a good flavor of caramel/toffee along with a nice alcohol warmth. There was a good bit of sweetness to balance the alcohol. There was a little bitterness on the finish, but it mellowed out fairly quickly with a good alcohol warmth lingering. Very nice.
