COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After researching brewing styles from the turn of the last century, Capital has created an outstanding, mild, American-style beer. This pilsner beer comes from an old Wisconsin recipe, circa 1900, and has a smoothness that the big beer companies will envy.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2007 Aroma is a mix of grain and cereal malt as well as yeast and corn. I detect a very pleasant sweetness in the aroma but cannot put my finger on what it is coming from. The head pours small, creamy, and white. It is mostly diminishing. The body is clear and slightly hazy. The body is a pleasant golden hue. The initial flavor is slightly sweet and finishes with a cereal/grainy taste lasting average to long in duration. It is medium bodied. The carbonation is lively. Texture is watery but not in a bad way. Sweet, satisfying, smooth finish.

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2004 The finest example of an American style pilsener ever! Pours the color of grapefruit with a thick foamy head, nice bubbles - not too much - perfect. Lacing = great. Very sweet smelling, but not too sweet, seems to strike a delicate balance. Nice full mouthfeel, flavor is quite complex for a pilsener; an initial saccharine astringency develops into piquant tang. Good stuff.

Nice clear yellow in color with lots of bubbles flowing within, has a one finger high head of bright white puffy foam with some big bubbles located on top, gets light stringy lace. Smell is sweet malts, very crisp and fresh, floral and grassy-like hops finish it off with a light toastyness. Taste is sweet, a touch of sharpness, subdued malts but still quite sweet, fresh, with a decent hop bitterness that shows a light floral quality with a bit of grass and spice. Feel is pretty full, smooth and lingering creamyness and a solid airy dryness into the finish. Quite drinkable for sure, easy going and pleasing.

Sweet malty flavor mixed with slight hop bitterness blends almost perfectly together in this excellent beer.Thick long lasting head stays throughout the glass with lacing all the way down.Golden in color. Wonderful carbonation. This is great beer.

A white foamy head on a golden color brew. Slight aroma, not too distinct but there.

Nice medium golden color, small white head that faded quick but left a slight lace behind. The aroma was malty and possibly light hint of caramel, semi sweet with hops.Nice light malty taste with a slight lemony side and spice coming through.I'd almost say it has a pumpkin ale quality, minus the pumpkin.Maybe i'm just dreaming. The hops are nicely done making this a very nice drinking brew and quite tasty, and at $1.19/bot you can't go wrong.Well worth trying again now if i was only smart enough to have picked up a sixer instead of a single.
