COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After researching brewing styles from the turn of the last century, Capital has created an outstanding, mild, American-style beer. This pilsner beer comes from an old Wisconsin recipe, circa 1900, and has a smoothness that the big beer companies will envy.

Poured a medium and lightly cloudy golden color with a very small sized white head. Aromas of flowers. Tastes of grain, flowers with a very light grassy finish. Aromas and tastes on the lighter side. Thin and watery body.

Pours to a marginally cloudy shade of dandelion. Aroma of hay, weeds, and something a little like coffee-piss. Some lemon and herbal notes in the flavor are dominated by a general expired taste.

Appearance: Light golden, a bit cloudy, with a lot of white, fluffy head. Smell: not very strong... and the smell that is there just smells like average beer Tatse: a bit on the bland side, with a very bitter metallic taste afterwards. Mouthfeel: a little on this thin side, though I feel the carbonation bubbling itself back up my thorat after I sawllow. Drinkable: sure, it's drinkable, but why bother when there's so much better out there?

If there’s one thing this brewery does, besides doing lots of great lagers, its nailing particular lager styles dead on. Its true of their fest and bocks, their helles, and very much true with this pre-proh style lager. Too bad its not the nicest of styles in the world. Sweetish palate, a twangy finish possibly from corn syrup. Light hop character hints at the same kind of spiciness I get from their pilsner and helles. Meh.

Pretty cloudy sunny yellow sunrise. Cool, crisp minty malts with some minty (northern brewer?) hops. Very sweet, syrupy malt flavor - mostly dough, but some cookie aspects. Almost non-existent hops bitterness. Muddled, indefinite finish. Not very impressive.

Yellow, huge white head. Mild aroma of hops. Not much taste, but some sweet malt and corn is there. Very smooth, but this is in exchange for flavor and body. An ok beer, but lots of better options from Capital.

not much to rate here: with craft-beers like this one, who needs macros? this is like whats left of a decent lager after it’s been run through the wash, a skeletal remnant. rub a dandelion lightly on a page of office paper and you’ll have an idea of the color; the head had the depth and staying power of warm breath on a mirror. some toasted barley in the aroma, mostly the chaff tho, with harmonious notes of dish rag or sponge. dry, corny breakfast cereal flavor, flacid carbonation. some sharpness occurs, as if they used grass clippings for bittering hops. average if it was a macro, but sorry indeed as a serious offering from a respected brewer.
