Apricot jam color. Not much head, but it’s not bad. It smells like fruits, peaches, apricots. Taste doesn’t works. Aftertaste turned to vinegar. I remember when in vacations, my hosts, a very kind couple, showed me how chicha was prepared. It was very simple. There had to grind and express apples and leave juice to ferment... I think this beer is much better fresh. Note: In my country there are at least two different chichas, one made of grapes, in the central zone, and other from apples, in the South.

Bottled. Cloudy light amber color with short head. Slightly citric smell, malty with caramel and vanilla aromas. Sweet balanced flavor with soft toasty bitterness. Good bubbles. Drinkable unfiltered, bottled fermented ale.

Bottled tried at Sicosis. Nice amber colour with short but lasting head. Aroma was off again 2nd bottle in a row! Some caramel in the taste but it was hard to get past that the aroma, more of an amber lager than amber ale, just don’t smell it . Caramel then some citrus notes.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2007 (in bottle, supermarket in Chile). Has a color amber more nearby to the yellow one than to the red one. The aroma is not very deep but he remembers some fruits, and probably flour. (Quinces and apples). A flavor, ultimately, with a little of vinegar. In the palate is very thin and gaseous.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2007 Bottled at Sicosis, Santiago. Clear amber, rich head. Tart and citric, spritzy and lightly caramelly. Obviously suffering from an infection, although not worse than that I can still sense some toffee. In the finish salt is mixed with citric acid. One of many Chilean micros suffering quality issues it seems.

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2006 Light golden ale with a thin white head. Funkey yeasty aroma, with fruity notes, almost veering on lambic, a bit peppery. In mouth, sour malt, wiht the same pepperyness, probably infected. Bottle at Sicosis, Santiago, about 2000P.

Iy lives up to its amber description and the promise that it is a sin filtrar. The nose is a bready toffee one with a promise of a good beer to come. Well, that is where it falls away. The citric taste pickedc up seems to me to be a malt extract tang that disappoints. As with number of the artesenal beers in Chile this is the aspect of the beers that must be addressed.

Panzerfaust (509) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - JAN 27, 2006
UPDATED: NOV 17, 2006 Dark but brilliant amber beer with a big medium retentive head. It shows also some sediments. Intense malty aroma of ripe fruits, caramel an vanilla. Flavor is medium bitter with a weird citric touch. It has a very citrusy character which is in contrast with the aroma. Why? I don’t know. It tastes a bit like the Pale Ale, but this is supposed to be an Amber!. Maybe it was caramel coloured also?. Mouthfeel is a little watery. Light bodied and refreshing. Strange try. The Pale is better by far.
