3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 ounce bottle that pours a clear golden color with aromas of toffee, sweet malts, honey and hay. Flavors are a dry version of the aroma with some butterscotch coming through.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Slightly hazy medium golden, long lasting head and lace. Taste is big and filling (maybe too much?) sweet caramel malt with fruity overtones. Bittering is minimal, through mild hops. My bottles lacked effervescence, accenting the heavy sweetness. Decent brew, but not deserving of more than 3.3.

its good for what it is, im just not into the sweetness of doppelbocks. heavy on the dark candied sugar and malty profile.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Perhaps this is inducement from my eyes, causing my mouth to imagine things, but I really got a yellow cake element, some distinct spiciness and fruit characteristic, really amazing stuff and a beer that I totally loved. Was actually quite surprised by the mediocre reviews here.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Vanilla cake batter flavor, but it is not as hard to drink. The alcohol presence is subtle and makes this beer quite enjoyable.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The aroma has what seems to be rubbing alcohol added to adjunct malt and no hops. The appearance is light amber with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is typical of the style. Overall an average beer.

Given to me by HopasaurusRex after a recent trip to the beer store. Thanks for the opportunity Todd!
Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a smallish white head that dissipates quickly to form a cap. Smells of sweet malt the second I pop the twist off. I nudge my nose a bit closer and find lots of caramel, prunes, sweet fruity malts, and melanoiden. Taste is sweet with fruity malts and caramel. I pick up some brown sugar and cherries in there as well. Finish is a bit sweet with a bit of dryness to it. Mouthfeel is sweet and sticky, carbonation is light to medium, body is medium. It smells a lot better than it tastes. I find this one to be a bit too sweet for its own good. If there were a little bit more burnt sugars or dark fruits in there to counter the sweetness this would be pretty damn good.
