It’s golden amber in appearance, slightly cloudy with virtually no lacing. The flavors of honey and cloves hint at a white chocolate flavor. Palette is sparkly yet smooth, like most Capital beers I’ve tried. The flavor is complex, sweet and clovey which turns slightly bitter only to finish smooth doubletriple (52), Illinois, USA

Wonderful malty sweetness to this one that is so easy drinking you may be through half a sixer and plastered before you know it. Proceed with caution. redmosquito (172), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA

Light caramel malt and spicey yeast fill the nose. Flavor is so clean. Malty, pilsen and caramel, just a light hint of toast in the finish. Hop character is very subdued, just adding some bitterness. The yeast is spicey, a just noticable ester that I’ve really come to look forward to in the Capital Bocks. This beer is smooth and totally hides the alcohol with its sweet malt charater. Another great lager from Capital. madislandman (3), USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 5, 2003 Except to note the great golden color with hint of amber, I'll leave the detailed descriptions to others. This is simply the best malt liquor I've ever tasted! Nose is malty and a bit sour with subtle hints of cocoa. Is expectedly lighter in the flavor and palate than most dopplebocks, but far from thin, has a nice, chewy palate on it. Malts are caramel sweet with very faint chocolate hints for heft. Cannot believe the abv is correct here, simply too quaffable. Excellent, excellent stuff. beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 24, 2003 Color is a deep golden orangy/amber with a head of short fluffy loose whiteness, lace sticks in strings. Smell is a lightened but darker orange and a terrific caramel sweetness in the nose. Rich and creamy taste, a bit of chewyness with good amount of caramel malts and a pretty moderate amount of dulled bitterness that has a great little hold of solid tang from hops. Excellently balanced. Feel is a partially full bodied, light and airy in carbonation and the small amount of chewyness mentioned.
Extremely drinkable, yummy, delicious, rich and creamy delightful wonderment. Capital has a winner with this one.
