3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a light golden color with a thick yellowish head. Aroma is malty, with a bit of honey. Flavor is similar, somewhat yeasty as well. It’s notable that there is absolutely no hop flavor in this. The palate was light enough to make it very drinkable. Not a bad doppelbock.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a brilliantly clear garnet tinged copper color with minimal white head that settles to a ring and leaves decent lacing. Aroma of sweet bread crust, toffee, light plum and some toastiness. Taste is very similar to smell with bread crust, toastiness, toffee, light plum, faint noble hops. Finishes mostly dry with a little maltiness and very slight alcohol warmth. Mouthfeel is semi slick with a light body and medium/high carbonation. Nice, clean dopplebock that hits all the marks for the style.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy copper pour with a thin white head. Aroma is big on bready and caramel malts, nice toasty notes a little dusty floral presence and toffee. Flavor is caramel, toffee, sweet bread crust, date nut bread, and just a hint of earthy, spicy hops. Medium body with a creamy, but syrupy feel throughout and a light, but blanketing carbonation. Really tasty stuff overall, definitely a beer better served in cooler weather, but still very much enjoyable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice dark gold, more amber colored than anything, not really blonde. On the nose there is a lot of malt, bread, and toffee. Taste is of caramel bread. Big malt bomb here.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle pours a clear dark orange color with vanishing off-white head but good lacing. Aroma is mostly bread dough, caramel and roasted malts with touches of lemon, grass, and hops in the finish. Taste is initially sweet with a bit of alcohol burn in the otherwise dry finish. Medium body with average carbonation. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky. Not bad, but I expected a better doppelbock from Capital
