2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 pintsize (1042) - Austin, Texas, USA - APR 8, 2008
3-16-08 bottle shared with lb4lb thanks to ketchepillar
Amber brown with thin head and very little lacing. Smell is weak and doughy and not impressive - not much roasted maltiness in there. Flavor is bland and watery - nothing to it aside from a hint of malt. Not much character or depth or body. Mouthfeel is highly carbonated. Flavor reveals a little more malt as it warms - but still doesn’t do much for me.

Brown with a tad ruby in color, small white head. Slight caramel candy nutmeg in aroma. More carbonated in the mouth with a yeasty bread like taste leaving you with a malt flavor and a sweet finish

bottle from ketchepillar. Thanks.
Pours a mostly clear, medium maroonish brown with a moderate lasting offwhite head. Smell is as expected and malty and almost nutty. Flavor is malty and nutty similar to the nose and has a noticeable light hop character on the backend. Nothing fancy, but drinkable and a decent brown ale, all around.

A nice color. Good balance of malts and bitters. Very easy to drink. Starts crisp and ends smooth with a nutty after taste. One of their better beers.
