This black ale is the perfect balance of dark roasted malt and bright hop flavors. With bold and complex flavors at the forefront. this beer retains a remarkable clean finish.

Pours dark cola brown with thin beige head that sticks around. I get almost nothing in the nose. Tastes of roasted malts with a hint of pine. Agree with other ratings that calling this an IA is dumb.

Bottle share at Evernote in Redwood City, CA. A pretty drab and wimpy thing. Nothing special to report.

Pours a black in color with a roasted malt aroma. Taste is a dirty malt bitterness and over roasted flavor. A dry finish, leaving a malty bitterness in the aftertaste.

Can at a shitty bar in wrigley vile. Very malty. Yeasty and earth aroma. Has hints of chocolate and is overall not good. I'm not going to enjoy this voyage

pours opaque dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is ever so slight citrus but with toasted malt. Creamy mouth feel. Good tasting. Not a lot of hop presence. More of a toffee burnt toast, coffee type of thing going on. Some bitter linger. Pretty good.

From a bottle into a taster glass. The pour is a cloudy brown . A malty light to medium body ipa. A light hop taste.

Bottle, thanks George999! Roasted malt aroma with hints of chocolate and a hint of hops. Pours dark brown with one finger of light brown head with excellent retention and little lacing. Starts starts with good roasted malt and chocolate flavors. Finishes dry with some bitter hoppy flavors joining the roasted malt and chocolate. Nice black ipa.

EtTuCthulhu (1376) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - MAR 9, 2015
The beer pours a murky brown with lots, and I mean a lot, of sediment floating throughout with a medium tan head that fades quickly. The aroma has a strong roasted malt backbone with lots of resin and pine hops almost overtaking the malt. The taste is initially a heavy hop bitterness, but that quickly fades to a mild roasted malt bitterness; the aftertaste is a weird fusion of hop and coffee flavor. Only a touch of sweetness helps to balance out that bitter. The palate fuses a soft carbonation, slick and thick texture, and a medium body.

Look: pours a dark black. Off white head. Slight Amber color as you look through the glass up to the light. Smell: caramel. Very sweet sugar. Taste: sweet caramel. Smokey malts. Slight bitterness on the back. Citrus fruit starts in the front and goes all the way to the back. Feel: dry overwhelms the sweetness. Bitterness all threat to the back. Overall: ok beer. Easy drinker. First drank: home 3/1/15 Vintage: 2014
