3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
This beer is now called Munich Dark on the label, and it does show the characteristics of a Dunkel. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Dark brown color with a medium foamy head. Rich and malty with slight bitterness on the back end. Not too shabby.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Decent dunkel. Capital can be hit or miss with their German-styled lagers, this one is middle of the road, however.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep rustic red hue with a off-white head and some lace. Aroma hints of roasted malts, molasses, caramel, aromatic hops and fig. Minor sweetness on top of a creamy and soft mouthfeel. Undertone of bitterness and crisp finish. Enjoyable beer, not a world beater but nice overall.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Copper hued brown, modest off-white head, somewhat fizzy, spotty lacing. Whole wheat bready nose, soft dark pitted fruit, and creamed honey. Interesting... Rich malty flavor, slight caramel, sweetened whole wheat, with very slight dark and pale fruit skin. Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full, and quite smooth. Clean finish, lingering carmelized sugar with very slight banana peel. Pretty tasty.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very nice interpretation of a Munchener-Dunkel, a deep reddish-brown brew with a lofty, creamy tan head. The aroma is great, lightly roasted malt, sweet with caramel and a dab of butterscotch, and quite fruity for a lager. The flavor drops a notch, yet remains enjoyable. Rich caramel, brown sugar sweetness, burnt toast, and some faint hopping to help balance it out. I probably won’t be sharing this six-pack.
