I didn’t get much of an aroma off this; maybe it was too cold. What there was malty and sweet. Flavor was not surprising like the Autumnal Fire, though mellower and richer. Alcohol was not overpowering, but definitely present. BigBastard (668), L.A., California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 5, 2006 Big sweet, malty aroma. Tastes like a dopplebock. the kicked up ABV was noticeable, but not overpowering, gives a nice warmth. Slightly sweet, roasted finish. Philip (436), Illinois, USA

Pours a lovely crimson hue. Notes of brown sugar, honey, clove and walnut on the nose and palate. Muted hops until the finish, where the hops come a bit alive with the alcoholic finish. Well done, among the best eisbocks I’ve tasted. Dickinsonbeer (3449), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA

Aroma has slight hints of alcohol and lightly sovlent-like with bready and caramel malts- almost like a strong Maibock. Bready and malty flavors, moderate sweetness, toasty and nutty with hints of alcohol. Overall, pretty clean and tasty. Nice eisbock. notalush (2648), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 28, 2006 Copper/amber with creamy, thick, white lace - strong aroma of dark fruit, caramel, lots of herbs and spices (almost "Christmas-like") - not overpoweringly sweet and thick like many eisbocks can be; this is actually quite delicate and dangeroursly easy to drink - caramel and toffee lay underneath a thick blanket of warming spices - smooth, doppelbock-ish finish, with a touch of warming alcohol to round it all out - a well-crafted brew. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA

Big-bubbled ecru-colored head over a dark orange body. Strong fruity, caramel-filled aroma. Nicely bittered finish. Very sweet and bitter, but not too syrupy at all. Strong herbal qualities as well as an interesting grassiness. Makes me feel a part of nature. Creamy and smooth finish, with a touch of alcohol astringency. For me it’s a little bit too sweet and syrupy after the first couple of sips, but its an eisbock, afterall. TheDean (785), MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 23, 2006 Bottle courtesy of Ughsmash. Brilliant amber color with 1 finger beige head. Aroma is full of caramel/toffee, bready with a faint alcohol. Flavor much the same. Caramel/toffee character is incredibly smooth. Again breay/biscuity flavor through the middle with some warming alcohol in the finish. Perfectly smooth mouthfeel. Well done.
