3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Headbanger (2072) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAR 31, 2010
12oz bottle 3/31/10 (Binny’s Plainfield)-48° in Snifter-Pours a clear amber with a small off white head that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma of malt, caramel, and sweetness. Taste of the same with more sweetnes and alcohol coming through. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and quite drinakble. Even though you can taste the alcohol it is stil hidden cosidering the ABV.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MrChopin (2065) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 9, 2010
Amber-gold with a thin white ring for a head. Quite sweet nose, some tea, and leaf to balance it out. Flavor is surprisingly more balanced despite the initial sweet blast of bubblegum, some hefty, dry malt driving the flavor at the finish. Thin and slightly sticky, palate is reminiscent of an iced-cider. Strange beer, one that stands of the edge of boring and intolerably sweet at the same time, somehow falling into neither.

12oz bottle from ughsmash. Pours a clear bright copper with a tight but smaller creamy white head. Nose is apple sweet with caramel, bread, banana, light bubblegum and clove. Not as sweet as the nose would suggest....good amount of bready malt, touch of wheat and hay, light apple as well as plum and finishes up with some white pepper cracker. The 10% is very well hidden in this as well, given how easy it drinks. Well made and very enjoyable. Thanks Jason.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 daknole (5474) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - FEB 26, 2010
Amber pour, white head. Caramel and fruity aroma with some apple juice notes. Flavor is sweet caramel, apple cider and a bitter hop finish. Good mouthfeel. Good beer.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Indra (2323) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - FEB 26, 2010
12oz. bottle. Malty, toasty, caramel aroma, some faint tobacco, anise and light alcohol. Clear, deep amber color, head is fine and off-white. Flavor follows the aroma very closely, with lots of toasted caramel, red apple skin, toffee, some faint dried leaves and breadiness on the finish. Smoothly effervescent and gently warming mouthfeel, body is medium-full. It’s actually fairly hard to believe this is an Eisbock with 10% abv...just very mild for such a big beer. Not all that different from Autumnal Fire, ultimately. Thanks to homebrewhawk for the sample.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 RCL (2025) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 24, 2010
Slightly vegetal caramel aroma. Flavor has a bit more hops than your typical Eisbock and rather pronounced alcohol character for -only- %10.

Red boy with a frothy white head. Aroma is malty sweetness first and some interesting earthiness and even some esters. Flavor is a little spicy with a tad of alcohol bite, but sweet roasted malts coming through a fair bit. Not a very full body, but certainly not thin. Being an eisbocked version of their doppelbock, it’s not something you often run into, but is certainly worth the taste.

Bottled sample via and shared with oakbluff. Amber in colour with medium carbonation. The aroma is heavy on the malts, with a bit of a floral hop in thebackground. Loads of pale malt and caramel flavors upfront in the mouth, along with elements of stewed fruit and mild spice. Medium bodied for the style and alcohol. Fairly tasty, but not my favorite style.
