Big sweet, malty aroma. Tastes like a dopplebock. the kicked up ABV was noticeable, but not overpowering, gives a nice warmth. Slightly sweet, roasted finish.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 jewedekind (450) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - APR 7, 2006
Tap. As purty as a brew gets with a deep bronze color and a equally red-bronze head. Fine lace for a >dopple. Full molasses/honey/toffee/treacle/caramel/malty aroma that even rose above the whoompf of alcohol esters that hits before the beer touches your lips. Creamy smooth in the mouth, rolls like a pig in mud. A happy beer. A fine brew, lots of love in this’n.

Thanks to Skyview for sharing this gem a year after production. Pours a deep fiery burnt orangish brown. Killer sweet nose with toffee and nuttiness are very prevalent. Very full super sweet mouthfeel that explodes with nuttyness, floral hops, and super sweet toffee.

Thanks a ton to skyview. Brown with orange highlights with faint head milk chocolate. Sweet nose with that character in many iced products. Sweet malty nose with toffee and light chocolate. Sweet body with floral hops and more toffee.

Thanks goes to oetiii of Central Beer Company of Wausau, Wisconsin for sharing this hard to find beer. From a 12-oz bottle, pours a semi-hazy dark orange amber brew with a thick light tan head that has good retention and lacing. Aroma of dark caramel malt, some brown sugar, roasted nuts, and dark pitted fruits. Taste is medium bodied, sweet, slightly carbonated with flavors of dark caramel malt, brown sugar, toffee and a touch of milk chocolate. Plenty of alcohol warmth with this brew. Finish is semi-sweet with a brown sugar and metallic alcohol texture. For a beer bottled for over a year this one has some excellent character.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 aracauna (2691) - Georgia, USA - AUG 31, 2006
Pours a gorgeous tawny red with a larger than expected head that leaves a sticky lace behind. The aroma is strongly malty with a soft ginger and peach fruitiness along with caramel and spicecake. This is a very good beer.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 hopscotch (7526) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 2, 2006
Bottle... DLD06... This beer rocks!.... Clear, deep amber lager with a small, creamy, khaki head. The flavor is all about caramel... period! Well, ok, a little nutty and chocolatey with a whisper of tawny port. Very sweet up front, but balanced nicely by bitter hops and bitter alcohol on the backside. Full-bodied and oily with pillow-soft carbonation. Finishes bitter-sweet. World class sipping brew! Thanks to hezron for the sample!
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BBB63 (5023) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - OCT 12, 2006
Bottle and served in a snifter: Pours a brilliant sunset copper hue topped by a fading frothy head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of vanilla, toffee, over-ripened apple and starfruit, various aromatics, hint of leather and tobacco and some grassy vapours. The taste is the bomb with loads of sweetness up front cleaned up by a dose of alcohol and even a bit of spicy qualities. What is so neat is that the beer is oh-so-drinkable never cloy nor boozy. The finish display the fruity overtones of the brew, cherries, apple, melons linger about and provide some acidity as well. The mouth feel is smooth but there is still a aggressive bite around the side of the tongue, moderately warming. What a wonderful creation, if you like Bocks you then must try this beer, NOW!

On tap at the brass tap in Tampa. I don’t know how a keg got down here but im glad it did. Pours a deep orange aand served in a sniffer. I didn’t taste too much of a boozy flavor and really good.
