3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light copperish gold.Slight head leaving a bit of foam/lacing.
Pretty fresh strong hop aroma of fruit/floral.Buscuit and a sweet toasted carmel with a bit of a metallicy lager note that seem common in lagers and octoberfests, very nice aroma really.
Taste has some same qualities. Its smooth with a grainy sweetness slight creamyness, slight toastyness-light-light med body, a citrusy/peppery finish and bite, pretty hoppy flavor overall. The citrusy/pepper bite balances the sweetness.Im thinking this is pretty damn fresh.Almost a pale ale but alot smoother.Very sessionable ,its not that bitter but has that tangy carbonated citrusy sting to it.Quite enjoyable beer.Name is fitting.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours pale gold with a thin, creamy, off white head. Aroma is citrus, tart berries, a hint of green tea, a little caramel, fruity yeast and mineral notes. Flavor is caramel, yeasty bread, lots more citrus and green tea. Lightish body with a slightly creamy, slightly dry entry, light, but fairly sharp carbonation and off dry finish. Interesting stuff, they definitely accomplished their goal of packing a good amount of hop aroma and flavor with minimal bitterness. I like it, though I wouldnít mind a bit more bitterness.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear dark gold/light amber with thin white head. Smells of light citrusy hops. Tastes of fruity hops and some caramel. Not a bad summer beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: DEC 11, 2013 On tap at brewery, pours a dark golden/amber with a soapy white head and lacing, the aroma has nice hop forward touch, the flavor has a good amount of malt and sweetness with a finish of hops, pretty balanced overall, I would drink this again in a heartbeat when I visit the next time.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
So begins another session of entering old ratings long ago scralled out in ink in some pocket sized notebook.
Pours a golden color (close to orange) with a small but well retained head.
The aroma is hoppy, plenty of citrus and orange rind hoppiness, strikes me as cascades... but I could be wrong. The aroma is lightly fruity, features some clean maltiness, and is generally very pleasant.
The flavor is light on hops but has a lot of clean maltiness. some herbal hops are playing throughout leaving a small note of bitterness. The beer tastes very clean and "plain", but itís not really bland. This basically does exactly what Chameleonís "Hop On Top" was attempting to do with perfect success, as opposed to the Chameleon one that tasted like a pile of garbage.
Iím guessing that there is a market for beers like this in WI, itís an odd concept to me that one would enjoy the smell of hops but not be so wild about their flavor. But considering the bitterness factor, I suppose itís understandable. If there is any credence in this sort of thing as a trend, then this one will probably be the benchmark.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pretty near worthless. I donít know why some brewers are out to make a buck producing these types of beers.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. A medium gold colored body with a slightly off white head. The nose is grainy with some sweet malt and caramel. There is also some apple. The taste is fairly sweet up front, like apple juice, but then is tempered with some piney hops. Notes of citrus come through in the back end with each drink. This hoppy cream ale is very tasty and has enough bitterness to keep it interesting. Well done.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draught during the Wisconsin Craft Beer Festival 2012 in Chilton, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden amber colored brew with an excellent sized off-white head that some good retention and lacing. Aroma of both floral and tropical fruit-like hops, some bread dough and a touch of creamed corn. Taste is medium to full bodied, soft carbonation with flavors of tropical fruits, a hint of citrus zest and multi-grain malts. Finish is semi-dry with a lingering IPA-ish bitterness that slowly disappears.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle. Bright orange pour with eggshell colored medium head. Aroma of fruity hops, juicy fruit gum, mild mint, some pin. Light bread dough and cookie dough. Flavor of strong citrus hops. Lots of lemon and orange, as well as a slight creaminess. The creaminess comes out more as you drink on. I assume this was the intent: to male a hoppy cream ale. Itís an interesting beer. I like it. It drinks easily. Itís medium bodied. Mild carbonation. Finishes on a bitter hop note.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Kellyís liquors. Aroma not great. Want it to be faintly piney but with smelly sock aspect added, it doesnít work. Slightly hazy gold body. Lasting white head. Although one of Capitalís most interesting beers, it A) pales in quality compared to Eisphyre and B) is a below avg IPA. Needs a little more sweetness for balance. Love the name "hop cream" but it establishes an expectation that isnít met. Improved as it warmed and initial impression was likely unfairly skewed by the Racer 5 IPA I had just prior. Iíd give it another go, but still waiting for Capital to raise their game.
