On tap at the brewery - Pours deep amber with a thin tan head. Super malty with candi sugar and raisins, with surprisingly little sharpness. Butterscotch and floral notes. Same flavor with lots of brown sugar, butterscotch, and sharp alcoholic malt on the finish. Way better than I figured it would be, but still a little sharp.

Deep red-amber in color - very nice! Tons of malt-based fruit aroma - dark fruits and even a bit of cherry? Unfortunately, notice the booze a little much. Big flavor - dark fruits, malt, malt malt, candy, biscuit, and spicy heat from the alcohol. Hot finish. Huge on the palate. While alcohol bite does even out a bit, it is a little more noticeable than I would have liked. Big-time beer.

On draught during the Wisconsin Craft Brewers Festival in Chilton, Wisconsin as "Imperial Fire." Pours a hazy amber brown colored brew with a thick and creamy off-white head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, a hint of barleywine character, some light raisin, candi sugar and Belgian yeast. Taste is full bodied, quite smooth with flavors of Belgian yeast, candi sugar, caramel malt a hint of raisin and toffee. Finish is semi-sweet with aftertaste flavors of Belgian yeast, candi sugar and some sweet toffee. Alcohol presence is well hidden, yet really knock you back on your seat after finishing 12-oz and standing up. Well-done!
