COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed using wheat grown on Wisconsin's own Washington Island, Kirby has created a refreshingly different ale for all to enjoy.

1. Look – A somewhat hazy straw to pale gold color wheat ale. There is a nice medium head and lots of bubbles. 2. Sniff – Island Wheat has some banana and clove aromas that are noticeable. 3. Sip – This is a very soft and refreshing wheat ale with a slightly sour finish to it. 4. Another Look – This wheat ale looks very appealing and easy to drink. I want to add a slice of orange to it. 5. Evaluate – Overall, this is light bodied wheat ale, with plenty of banana and clove flavors, which will keep you sipping away. I would most definitely recommend this beer to my family and friends for something light in the summer time.

Strong wheat bread in the aroma with a hint of spice. The flavor is of wheat grain, citrus and a bit of spice. A bit different than most wheat ales, very strong on the bread but not one-dimensional. Pretty good for the style.

Was disappointed by this beer. Pours a cloudy amber colour. No distinctive taste. Pretty bland at the end.

12 ounce bottle from Steve’s Mineral Point Madison, WI. Pours a hazy straw yellow with a medium white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of wheat, caramel, apple-like fruits and a faint nuttiness. The taste is soft wheat notes, citrus, honey, apples, caramel, faintly bitter finish. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

A pretty damn good wheat beer. The wheat isn’t overpowering and it’s sessionable.

Bland even for a wheat ale. Nice cloudy blond appearance with even some brown wheat flecks. No hop bitterness, and no wheat citrus tang.

Bottle pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma shows wheat bread, lemon zest, light banana, and hay. Flavor shows the same. What’s interesting about this is how distinct the Washington Island wheat actually is. If anyone has ever had Death’s Door spirits, then you probably know what i’m talking about. Unique and not your typical hefe.

Bottle; So - it’s 100 degrees outside, and quite humid. This one really hit the spot, honestly; the pour is murky light golden with a frothy white head that retains fairly well; light , spotty lacing in this glass. The nose is bready malts and lemon zest. The flavor profile is light bodied, bready, zesty; it is fairly bitter on the tongue, with light hops present - It’s fairly simple, but nice.
