COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed using wheat grown on Wisconsin's own Washington Island, Kirby has created a refreshingly different ale for all to enjoy.

Hazy yellow color with a foamy but thin white head and decent carbonation. Grainy aroma with a smooth taste that is slightly pale and has a hint of zest. Crisp and flavorful, this is a nice wheat ale.

12 oz pours hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of yeast, citrus and malt. Taste is much the same. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at brewery, pours a hazy golden yellow with a thin diminishing white head, aroma has some yeast and wheat notes with subtle spices, flavor has a nice yeasty front with a lemon finish, not bad for a warm spring day.

Love it. It has some fruit aroma, orange and a bit of ginger. Cloudy color that when mixed with the aroma makes you expect a little bit of a stronger taste. I find it refreshing to drink this beer, many of them, on a warm WI night. They go down smooth and each one leaves you wanting another. Not to heavy on the taste or the alcohol so you can enjoy a few.

Nice mild aroma, very thin golden color, more like an american pilsner. This beer is confused to its identity. May be good if its 95 degress out and you are sweating after cutting the grass. Not much flavor, nothing off or pronounced, but bland. Thin mouthfeel, no finish, sort of flat, no weiss bier characteristics. Seems more like a supper club Hamms at a Wisconsin fish fry. No hops, no yeast, not much malt taste.

Served from a bottle. Foamy crisp drinkable beer, with a light wheat taste, guessing cascade hops, since it’s not over powering. Good warm weather beer.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle is clear, very slightly hazy yellow with thin white head, aroma brought notes of some wet hay, slight fruity notes, hints of grassy pine touch of biscuit and bread as well, not very appealing. Taste is a bit better but I still get the wet grainy and hay notes, hints of sweet fruit and biscuit with a fairly sweet but slightly dry finish.

This one poured a darker straw color with a moderately lasting white foamy head expected of a Wheat Ale. Slight aroma of clove and a hint of coriander as might be expected. It went down smoothly with a suggestion of graininess and well rounded wheat malt. The hops were grassy and almost tart, but were a good balance for the malt. This would be a good session wheat.

Light pale straw color, thin nill head. Tart, mineral, lemon, light sweet grain.Somewhat pleasant really. light not too thin taste but smooth and mildly sweet with some lemon, mild tartness, slightly dry crisp, mild mellow hop presence more floral and slightly herbal.Witha tart very lightly sweet but somewhat dry finish.Pretty clean with a pretty nice malt/yeast character(flavor) overall.A light smooth light sweet breadiness. A great beer for the summer.

1. Look – A somewhat hazy straw to pale gold color wheat ale. There is a nice medium head and lots of bubbles. 2. Sniff – Island Wheat has some banana and clove aromas that are noticeable. 3. Sip – This is a very soft and refreshing wheat ale with a slightly sour finish to it. 4. Another Look – This wheat ale looks very appealing and easy to drink. I want to add a slice of orange to it. 5. Evaluate – Overall, this is light bodied wheat ale, with plenty of banana and clove flavors, which will keep you sipping away. I would most definitely recommend this beer to my family and friends for something light in the summer time.

Strong wheat bread in the aroma with a hint of spice. The flavor is of wheat grain, citrus and a bit of spice. A bit different than most wheat ales, very strong on the bread but not one-dimensional. Pretty good for the style.
