3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Delicate aroma consisting of spice, dough, burnt caramel, and banana. Thin ring of lace atop a deep golden and hazy liquid. Softness and acidity ride the palate. Very faint toastiness and an interesting leafiness/dryness which separates this from most in its class. A solid offering, but nothing about which to tell your beer buddy.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Am I the only person who noticed this beer is rather sour? Maybe my sixpack was bad, but there was a distinctive sour, citrusy, spicy, coriander thing going on with this beer. Certainly a surprise from an American brewer, but not necessarily a good surprise.

This is a good beer.
Nice aroma with a spice flavor. C’mon guys, this beer isn’t even close to Weihenstephaner’s Hefe-Weisse.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 2, 2003 Cloudy hazy yellow color, with a small white head that doesn't last. Nice spicy banana-clove aromas, has slightly sour wheaty, yeasty with strong banana flavors, light bodied with a semi-watery mouthfeel, finishes crisp and peppery, one of my favorite wheats made in the US.

A very solid, tad citrusy, effort from Capital. I don’t mean to be a total Alehole, but has anyone noticed that they have a picture on the label of a CapitOl, but their name is CapitAl.

Light straw color. Nice white head and typical chill/yeast haze. Almost a cross between a weise and a wit with the cloves and then orange flavors. One of the best domestic weisen biers.

The bottles are 3/5 full (that’s the first thing noticable!) Perfect looking hefe weizen golden cloudiness. Not as great of an aroma as I expected, but I liked the Beer overall. I enjoyed it without the lemon, or rice, as they used to add to hefe weizens in the BeNeLux region.

My neighbor handed me a bottle of this stuff over the fence after I’d done some heavy yard work. Oh boy, did it TASTE GOOD!! I’m not very familiar with this style of beer but I’ve got to say that I will probably become more familiar with it in the future :)
