Cloudy dark gold light copper. Smooth and creamy palate. Aroma is wheaty and slightly fruity. Flavor is lemony sour and a little hoppy. Not the best german hefe I’ve ever had.

Had this on tap at their tap house in Madison. Very heavy banana aroma with some clove mixed in, traditional for a hefe. But the taste went a bit deeper and revealed some spiciness to it. Not too shabby!

On tap at the brewery - I moved within 1/3 mile of the brewery, and on the first night I stroll down there, I was pleased to see this beer on tap. Pours hazy amber with a huge white head. The smell is fresh and sweet, with just enough spice. Lots of clove and banana, with some light lemon. It’s sweet, but not overly so. The taste is fantastic--light, sweet, and fruity, with wheat, light clove, and bananas. Light wheat and lemon dominate the finish, and make this a refreshing beer all the from start to finish. Pretty full and slick in the mouth, with a sweet, smooth finish. Wonderful.

On tap at WI Microbrewers Fest. Pale yellow with a nice hazy glow and plenty of head. Aroma thick of banana esters, mild spice. Sweet malted wheat and pale malt fall seamlessly together with light fruit and spice. Clean all the way down. Well carbonated and good overall presence. Perfect for a 90 degree humid day.

Hazy banana yellow with a medium slowly dissipating white head. Aroma of banana, toasted malts, fruit, mild clove and yeast. Taste of banana, wheat, apple, clove and lemon. Mildly grainy body has a semi-sweet and dry finish that’s also a bit spicy. I’m a bit shocked they retired this one as it seems like a quality effort.

The aroma of wheat is evident in this one, but the taste is not there. Colour is dark golden, big full white head. Aroma is mild, not a lot of wheat, soft fruit. Taste is a little unbalanced, finishes tart. a little dissapointing.

Pours slightly cloudy and straw-colored with a thin white head. Aroma consists of yeast, banana, and spice. Up to this point, it’s much like other hefeweizens. It’s in the taste where it is different. The palate is a bit heavier than most hefeweizens and slightly oily. Malty and sweet describes the flavor with touches of banana, honey, and spice. Finishes clean. A great beer that is unfortunately retired.

Appearance: Pours a lightly hazy, coppery body with a tiny white head.
Smell: Mild aroma of wheat, yeast, maybe a touch of citrus. So light!
Taste: Flavor of malted wheat with a slight tanginess. Mildly sweet hint of honey. Banana, lemon, and spice present, but it’s all at rather muted levels. Finishes dry with some yeast lingering into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Soft mouthfeel.
Drinkability: I could use a bit more carbonation, but overall it’s a pleasant hefe-lite weizen.
