Bottled. Poured crystal-clear golden with a creamy, sticky, well-retained off-white head.. set up nicely in the glass. The aroma picked up sweet bread and honeyed malts with light lime and salty accents.. not a whole lot going on, but it was pleasant enough. The flavor found honey and pale malts at the core, with fairly tangy lime and dry grassy bitterness around.. refreshing finish with higher acidity and more lime. Light-bodied with the right carbonation level on the palate..not the smoothest flow, though.

Typical biscuity buter nature of this brewery, some light hoppiness. Easy to drink.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 fl oz bottle. (Friar Tuck) Springfield, IL.
Clear pale yellow golden colour with a small white head.
Mild wheaty and ricey aroma. And a bit like Kölsch. The flavour is hoppy bitterness, wheaty maltiness and some yeastiness. Very summery. Soft carbonation. Easy to drink.

16 ounce can poured into a dimple mug. Honey golden and a little hazy. An almost white head is three fingers and slowly falls. A good bit of visible carbonation. I smell grass with a little lemon in it and soft pale malts. I taste grains with some grass and very gentle noble hop notes. Something sour is underneath from the yeast and some peppery spice is tasted. And at the finish some honey emerges. This was ok.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Transparent straw yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is skunky with noble hops and bready malt. Taste is grainy with pale malts and light fruit in a fizzy and thin package. I don’t get why we needed yet another easy drinking bland lager from Capital.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma is pale lager with a hint of grit. The flavor is the same as the aroma along with some citrus and a mildly beery finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 ounce bottle
Another pick up from Steve’s, this one caught my eye as different from the normal Capital styles I am used to. A fine light session beer is drinkable. While it might not be unique it at least felt worth the $1.99 that it cost. If offered one at a picnic I wouldn’t turn it down.
Aroma / Appearance - A rose gold base is bright and cheery. Dense white head settles over time to a thin layer of dust. Rye, oranges, and wheaty feels chewy for something under 5% ABV.
Flavor / Palate - Rye and lemon glaze sweetens the tongue after just one sip. Orange peels dried until brittle transition into a wheaty finish. The background carbonation keeps it light and lively. Just a cut above average it is decent without being unique. Pick up one, see if you like, and then maybe go back for more.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Single bottle from Lemon Tree. Not sure why Capital is pumping out the pale lagers. I’m really not interested in trying all of them side-by-side to see if they’re any different. This starts with oxidation under the cap. Pale yellow under a foamy head that at least clings to glass a bit. Smell in the glass is the usual pale malt, though there may be a bit more hop at work. Taste is more of the pale lagers malt, but at least it seems to be all malt, and just a slight bit more German hop at work. Not much more than a sneeze, but a decent fishing beer.
