COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bock beer with a beautiful, deep golden hue. Very smooth, this beer has great depth of character, and is an excellent beer to celebrate the end of winter and beginning of spring. Available February through April.

Decent looking beer. Soft caramel malts are prominent, with a bit of candy sugar. Very smooth and sweet. Medium bodied, with minor fruit notes like apple and cherry. There is a bit of spiciness toward the end, which may be the hops poking their heads out. Overall easy to drink and smooth. Good session beer. Capital never lets me down.

12 oz bottle, via Monger. Pours a hazy orangish copper colored body under a fizzy white head that faded to a patchy covering. The aroma is heavily malty with some light fruity notes and light alcohol. Malt driven flavor profile with some moderate sweetness and alcohol. Lightly fruity with some pear and apple notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and a little thick in texture with moderate fizzy carbonation. Slightly sticky late in the finish. Overall, I never really get much out of most Maibocks. This was OK I guess, but not something I’d seek out again.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium and slightly hazy orange color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of biscuit, caramel, honey, and lightly fruity. Tastes of biscuit, caramel, same light fruitiness and a touch of spices.

It’s Bock season! This was recommended by my Cheesehead friends. Straight from the bottle, it pours a dark caramel color with an off-white head. Aroma of a typical late bock with hints of toasted honey and dried apricots. Taste pretty much the same as aroma but more hop presense and a dry fruity finish. A very nice Maibock.

I got dragged to a martini bar that clearly did not give a wit about beer, but they had this on tap. I was underwhelmed by the beer, but that might be because of the place (dirty glass). It poured a light dull brown in a pub glass with large dirty looking bubbles. Smell was lightly malty. Flavor was a bit of caramel, but generally very mild and bland. Mouthfeel was fine, but I can’t say I feel moved to strongly recommend this beer.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2008 Pours a hazy orange with small head. Aroma is uuhmmm...... interesting. Almost a spicy cooked vegetable type smell. Flavor is of malts, vegetable, spice. Gets maltier as it warms. Strange but interesting.

Clear glowing orange in color. Aromas of smoked cheddar and vinegar barbecue chips. Too sweet and too strange: touches of steak sauce, lemon and metals are most evident in the taste. Somehow accomplishes both abrasive saltiness and impish sweetness. Poured it.

12 oz bottle thanks to frankenkitty. Poured a clear orange with a tall off white head. Malty aroma carmel, floral, light but decent. Cookie, malt, biscuit, honey, a little sweet but very drinkable, with a hint of floral hops and dry finish. I get a little sick of it as I go on. Not as good as their others but a session beer at the least.
