12oz bottle. Pours a clear, orange-gold colored body with a thin, frothy, white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is bready with a light honey-caramel sweetness, a light grass, some floral fruits, and a light toast. A faint peppery spice and some butterscotch. Flavor is similar. Bready and a bit grainy with a light honey-caramel sweetness to the malts. A light grassy, floral fruitiness with a touch of pepper spice, toast, and a hint of herbal spice. Finishes bready and a bit honey-sweet with a lightly spiced, noble hop bitterness that dries nicely. Fairly lengthy aftertaste following a medium, soft, smooth body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent maibock. Not overly complex, but well balanced and easy drinking. Bready, lightly sweet, floral, a tad spicy, and decently hopped. An alright beer.

It poured a clear amber with a decent white head. The aroma was of caramel, honey, toasted bread and some floral notes. The flavor was of caramel, butterscotch, honey, and a light hint of some fruit. A very decent Maibock.

12 oz single from my recent trip to Wisconsin. Pours a near transparent darker gold with touches of orange or amber, a little darkness to it, a small whitish head atop dies to a ring and laces minimally. Aromas are grassy and bready, touches of sweeter malts with a touch of butterscotch, toast, and pretty light overall on the nose. Initial is lighter bodied, crisp and sweet bready malts, grainy, with touches of dry grass and florals to provide light bitterness. A touch of warming alcohol, faint spice, with more grainy and bready malts, some toast, a touch of clover honey. Lingering florals on the backend pick up a touch, still a lingering earthy and floral bitterness, clover and grass, touches of yeasty bread pop back in. Finish is dry and floral, grassy, with lingering bread and toast. Simple but not bad. The aroma wasn’t great, but the beer has a nice kick of earthy hops. Not bad.

I had it side-by-side with a Hacker Pschorr Maibock, and it didn’t hold a candle. It has a super buttery malt bill.

Appearance: golden orange. White head fades fast into a nice thick blanket. Swirls with lace and even more white puff.
Nose: fruit, spices, and honey. Stewed peach, nectarines, mango; cinnamon sticks for spice. Red apple flesh minus the skins for that extra level of fruit sweetness and flavor. Honey wheat bread.
Palate: beautiful, full, and mouthcoating. Honey wheat bread back and in the finish; honey coats the lips. Spices tickle top of tongue and breath with cinnamon and everything nice. Peaches, nectarines abound both in flesh and in skin. Sweetness of meaty fruity inside fills middle of palate, fleshing out the already filling honey wheat breads. Spiced apples. Wisp of nutmeg. Blends together wonderfully while still being discernable individually.
Final Thoughts: aside from the OK island wheat, I have so far been quite impressed with Capital Brewery. Suffice to say they have been living up to their hype and then some. May I have some more, please.

Aroma of hops and citrus. Flavor is a mix of citrus, light hops, and floral presence.
