Too sweet at the start for my tastes. Luckily a bit of alcohol and an even tinier hint of hops came to the rescue.

Light golden color. Tastes like a feed-bag. Heavy on the oat taste. Smooth, but there are not a lot of hops, almost none. A good maibock.

UPDATED: MAY 11, 2006 rerate-tap at brewery and at village green just down the street with McKnizzle69. Light orange with a soapy white smooth head and good lacing. aroma of german noble hops, munich malts, bold and somewhat husky/fruity. flavors are bold for the style-spicy hops, zesty yeast character. body is full and slightly surupy. bold, spicy finish with notes of white grapes. very nice maibock!

a great beer. Maibock is my least favorite of the bocks but this one really surprised me with it’s huge flavor and aroma. Looking forward to more of these tonight.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 howie (549) - DeForest, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 3, 2002
Great-looking, lasting head, nice dark gold color. Sweet malt and a little alcohol in the nose, much the same in the flavors. Nice hop spiciness to balance. Sweet, oily mouthfeel makes this a very enjoyable bock.

A good balance of the sweetness and malt favor. Even friends I know who can’t stand bock beers find themselves ordering one
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TAR (2236) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - JUN 24, 2002
UPDATED: APR 18, 2004 A magnificent clear brownish-yellow color. Foam starts rocky but turns into a ring of creamy lace with little stickiness. Popcorn, clover honey, alcohol, and sweet malt aroma. The slight syrupy mouthfeel and lively carbo. do a more than adequate job in coating the buds. Sweet toasted malt and noticeable alcohol round this brew out nicely.

Bottle. A fairly smooth beer with a malty flavor that finishes nicely.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2004 2002 Version: Very simislar to this year fest. I need to do a side by side. Nobel hops aroma and flavor. Enough malt to back up the hop. A very good domestic pale bock. Aroma 8, Appearance 4, Flavor 8, Palate 4, Overall 13 - Rate 4.0
2004 Version: Light amber with a dence beige head. Nice lace. Faint malt and light nobel hops. Light malt sweetness with a mild bitterness and a sharp alcohol bite late. Malt complexity gone this year. Perhaps a poor malt year. Aroma 6, Appearance 4, Flavor 6, Palate 3, Overall 12 - Rate 3.0
