A bock beer with a beautiful, deep golden hue. Very smooth, this beer has great depth of character, and is an excellent beer to celebrate the end of winter and beginning of spring. Available February through April.

Bottle pours light orange-gold with an off-white head. Aroma is faint with light herbal notes on top of biscuit/caramel malt and grassy hops. Flavor shows the same with a touch of honey as well as a spicy alc presence. Overall body is light to moderate and the finish is dry.

Clear amber color. Slight hops, sweet, a little bitter, and very dry. There was a pepper aspect to it too. Medium bodied and average amount of carbonation. Very drinkable, not too wild.

Clear gold pour with a white head. Wow, this head was like soda, as in it was huge, but fizzed out after 1 second. Very odd. Lots of caramel and dough in the nose. Flavor is about the same, medium sweetness and just a touch of metallic twang. Fizzy finish, pretty clean. Decent.

Bottle. Dirty yellow pour with a smaller white head. Aroma is earth, grass, and rye. Medium palate, softer carbonation - maybe a touch on the flat side, but it works for the style. Taste is earth, rye, pumpernickel. Decent stuff.

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.
