COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bock beer with a beautiful, deep golden hue. Very smooth, this beer has great depth of character, and is an excellent beer to celebrate the end of winter and beginning of spring. Available February through April.

On tap @ Great Wolf Lodge (Wisconsin Dells) Poured a copper colour with a tight small white head. Aroma was malty sweet caramel, hint of alc and vanilla. Flavour was a little boozy at first impression but the malt flavour came on as the brew warmed up. Pretty sweet, medium bodied. Toasted malt, some honey, light herbal hop bitterness.

From a 12oz Bottle. Pours a transparent, golden yellow color with a healthy finger of pillowy white foam. Exceptionally clean, with a rich, borderline vanilla-scented pils malt aroma complimented by hints of raisin-laden munich characters. Minimal hop aroma. Notes of honey sweetness. Medium bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel with a soft, malty texture. Clean and well attenuated, but still brings out a relatively rich malt character. Flavors of honey and vanilla with a hint of raisin. Showcases the malt exceptionally well while maintaining a relatively high level of drinkability. A mild herbal hop bitterness keeps this from getting overly sweet. A solid example of an under-represented style.

12oz bottle. hazy brown-orange. Oily head. Smooth pungent bocky malt taste. Pretty true to style. Crisp and almost lactic at the same time, with a solid malt base. Very well balanced with good hop character as well. Not as much depth as some German examples, but still a good beer.

120z bottle. Pours a dark orange color with a big, fluffy off-white head. aroma is of toasted malt, grain, honey, caramel, and light hops. Taste is lightly hopped with lots of honey and grain. Has a toasted malt backbone, that borders on biscuity with lots of caramel. Lingering taste of caramel on the tongue. Mouthfeel is creamy, yet very crisp. Alcohol isn’t present at all. A very refrshing and enjoyable beer. Could have used a bigger hop presence, but it’s good.

Pours a clear deep orange-gold with a big off-white head that produces some lacing. Aroma is sweet malt and honey. Sweet lightly-toasted malt flavor along with some buttery caramel and slight hop bitterness. 6.2 % ABV not elevated enough to negatively affect the taste (good thing), but enough to get your attention. True to type and a pretty fine effort!

jebert (288) - Watertown, Wisconsin, USA - APR 21, 2009
Pours a beautiful dark golden color topped by a creamy light tan head with nice lacing. Bouquet is mostly hops and grain. Very creamy mouthfeel. Nicely carbonated. Taste is sweet malt with a nice light hop finish. A good start to spring, this bock pairs well with burgers, chicken or snacks.

Tap - clear fizzy amber - minimal head - fairly straightforward and clean maibock - moderate honey sweetness, toasted malts, caramelized sugars, some floral character - very mild bittering hops in the finish are not enough to balance the sweetness - okay.
