This brew tastes very much like the amber lager. Not a bad brew but thought it would taste more like a bock beer. Lacking hop flavor and is kinda boring.

Pours a dark gold color with a large foamy head that leaves sticky lacing. Aroma is sweet malts, corn, and some caramel. Tastes about the same. Kind of a rich man’s "Heineken" in my eyes.

German malt dominates aroma, in fact its all I detect, taste is smooth bready malt flavor with slighty fuity caramel backing and maybe a little noble hopping. Lacks the little sweet melanoidins that Maibocks should have, still extremely drinkable, and really loved by an old Miller drinker, who wanted to taste a German type lager, like he had in the big war. He loved this

12 oz bottle
Very carbonated Maibock pours brown with a good head. Carbonation holds throughout drinking. Mild Nutty, malty nose. Nothing extraordinary here. Flavor was good- Sweet Roasted malts and a mildly hoppy finish. Clean on the pallet. Not too heavy. Easy to drink as a session beer.

Gold with aroma of sweet malt. Full-bodied mouthfeel. Very easy to drink at Capital’s bierstube. Pretty decent bock.

Found this rating in an old book from June/03!
Malty nose, light copper, a small cream coloured head. Flavour has fruited malt, almost sour tasting, trace of bitterness. Very full bodied, given that it’s 6.2%, quite a dry finish. Intriquing little example.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Driftwood6 (214) - USA - JUL 22, 2007
In bottle. Thought it was a little light in the body compared to the various German versions I’ve tried. A little drier (not as sweet) as well. A bit more of the "bock" body would help this beer.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey - Pours a very slight hazy golden color with a one finger thick off white head. Lively carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma is caramel malt and light esters. Flavor is toasted malt and light esters. Has a slight bitter palate. Medium body. A decent Bock. Thanks Wendy and Bill.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 kyzr (1140) - Belgrade, Montana, USA - JUL 5, 2007
Amber in color with small white head. Caramel and fruity nose. Flavor is big and sweet up front with heavy hint of carmalied sugar. Just a touch of hop, and finish is clean.
