Bottle. Orange malt and orange peel aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Mildly sweet citrus malt and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. Not bad.

Bottle from PW singles rack. Nose and initial taste are very mild hop-wise. Decent but not outstanding. Can’t tell the ’drink by’ or ’bottled’ date...could be stale.

Enjoyed this easy drinking IPA from Capital. Has a very basic palate, just a little hops, no real spiciness or bitterness. Extremely drinkable and fun.

Bottle - Pours clear amber with a big fluffy white head and beautiful lacing. Nose is clean dry malt, light peppery spicing, and a piney hop aroma. Taste is medium bready-sweet malt, more dry pepperiness, and a understated pine/grass hoppiness. Soft, clean body and well-carbonated. Now I’m no Capital fanboy--far from it--but I’m baffled at the low scores on this one so far. It’s soft up until the finish, well-balanced, and fairly clean and dry. There’s nothing in-your-face about it, but honestly that’s probably my favorite thing about it. I went in with low expectations--especially after hating their new DIPA--and was pleasantly surprised.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Bottle. Clear pale orange pour with a white head. Getting some lager yeast on the nose. Bit of resin bite in the taste, but it’s a bit sharp and persistent. Not a great IPA.

Nearly clear, bubbly amber, with a short, off-white head. Orange peel.........a little pine aroma. Taste is moderate bitter orange peel, caramel malt, tea leaves...wood. Very dry,...white pepper notes. Ok, but just a plodding, dull bitter throughout.

Pour golden / copper with a good sized soapy off-white head. The aroma has pine, grapefruit zest, mushy caramel malt and some orange. It has a medium body with a bit of a rough grainy feel and minor carbonation. The flavor starts with dry bready malt, dry caramel, earth, pine, wood and just a lot of rough hop bitterness. The finish has a lot of earth, dry grapefruit and resin. Good IPA, but the hop flavors are heavy on the the abrasive side with not a lot of distinct flavors popping out.

Pours a light golden orange with good head, excelent frothy lace. Aroma is mildly hoppy floral maybe slightly with sweet fruit, slight dankness, possibly herbal with caramel and light bready yeast. Some funkiness. Taste is same but hops aroma and taste becomes more vivivd as it warms.Becomes more of a dank earthy hop profile in taste.Has some sticky caramel malty sweetness.Peppery fruit.Strong spicey pine finish.Seems to fit the bill of a malty midwestern ipa. A bit sweet though. Some dryness in finish.Almost a little hot and boozie also

Aroma is yeast, citrus and very light pine. The flavor is citrus, light grapefruit, slightly soapy in texture, malts and a dry/lightly bitter finish. Decent enough but, as expected, Capital’s German style offerings are their best.
