3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at a friends tasting. From notes. Floral and pine with a huge citrus nose and taste. Probably one of the better capital beers Iíve had.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 ounce bottle
A pickup over the Great Taste of the Midwest this was consumed as soon as possible to enjoy a solid Wisconsin IPA. Itís not the biggest or boldest example of the style. That said it was worth the $1.99. This falls easily into the "nice to have a six pack around" category.
Aroma / Appearance - A caramel bronze base sits in the glass lazily. Starchy white head is the color of bleached laundry. Earthy grass, warm hops, and a pleasant malt bill balance against each other. This is hoppy without being an IPA bomb and almost feels like more of an English style IPA.
Flavor / Palate - Tree bark, resin, and the bitterness of muddy hops slide gracefully over the tongue. The transition is like licking a basket of pine cones that have dried by a fireplace. Malt driven flavors sweep into a finish that reminds me of an English pale ale. For that reason it might keep better than some hop bombs but I still would not sit on it.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear light orange with lasting head and great lacing. Aroma is sweet citrus with orange zest, earthy, with floral hops. Taste is laid back, light, crisp up front into a mild hop burn, settling on a great caramel and bready malt aftertaste. Finishes dry in the palate. I havenít been too impressed with Capitalís brews in the past, but this is very underrated. Itís greatest strength is how laid back it is.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Yellow. Somewhat floral aroma, and a flavor that offers some curious notes later, including some citrus but also some spices, like juniper and light licorice. A little astringent as it went on. Not noticeable in the flavor, but the 6.2% was apparent in the effect it had. Slightly richer, more oily body, than expected. O.k. but perhaps a bit flawed. Bottle.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clean orange amber. Medium white head, lasting with some lace. Aroma has nice balance - Caramel, citrus, mango; good but not standout. Flavor much the same. Very bitter - a bit too sharp. Theres some sweetness there as well. A good enough beer but the bitterness of the long finish overstays its welcome.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. can. Pours orange amber with a thin off white head that dissipates to a wispy film. Aroma has bitter dry piny hops that also show earthiness. Taste is more bitter dry earthy piny hops some sweet floral grain and a lingering fruit floral flavor. Palate is thin and dry. For 9.99 a 12 pack this shit rocks!

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from beerboxer. Pours light amber gold with a creamy white head. Aroma seems earthy. Med body. Foamy carb. Flavor seems very hoppy, but itís earthy hop. Mild hop burn. Itís sort of chewy. Malt backbone exists, but itís not exactly caramel. Lots of bitter on the tongue sides. Personally, I think this ale deserves a higher rating than it has garnered. Itís laid back, but there seems to be lots of ingredients - not a cheaply brewed ale. Finishes dry, bitter and satisfying - hop wise.
