An authentic German style pilsner, this is Capital’s largest selling beer. A superbly balanced beer, with a firm maltiness alongside hearty hop bittering and flavor notes.

A straight forward pilsner. A clean, dry finish with some malt flavor. Not great, not bad, just average.

A - Pours hazy golden with a frothy white head. No lacing. S - Wet grain, grassy hops, mineral yeast. T - Noble hops combined with a honey kissed, bready malt, some lemon and wet grass, clean grain on the back half. M - Creamy wet body turns semi-dry on the finish. A good drinker. This isn’t breaking the mold, smooth and quite tasty. Serving type: bottle 10-19-2011

Pours golden with a bit of head. Aroma doesn’t have too much going. A bit of hay and overall floral tones. Flavor isn’t dense but very refreshing. A bit coarse hoppy finish but not overpowering. Very refreshing sessionable beer

12oz bottle pours a clear golden/yellow with a small white head. Aroma of grassy hops, yeast, and a bready malt. Taste has a solid malt presence with bread and slight hops. Very clean and refreshing, not overly flavorful but an enjoyable Pils.

Aroma of hay, light/moderate noble hops and very light pear. Appearance is lightly carbonated gold with nearly no head. Flavor of hay up front, light sweetness, and a light/moderate noble hop presence, leading to a dry finish. Palate is bubbly and fairly still. Solid.

As pilsners go, this ain’t bad at all. Pours clear golden with small white head. Bitter Euro-centric hops on the nose, some lemongrass, and just plain old grass. A bit of earthy funk on the tongue, bready, filling texture. Actually one of the better Capital beers I’ve had.

Dirty golden amber with a quick to dissipate head and light dots of lace. A nice balance between malt and hops, neither very strong, but adequate for a conventional pilsner. There are other, better Capital offerings, but this is fine as an unoffensive flagship brew.

As far as straight up pilsners go, this is pretty good. Simple, refreshing, and nice.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. A "born on" date of the 316th day of 2008...a tad bit old maybe? Pours a lightly cloudy dehydrated-piss gold with about a finger of bright white head. Aroma of green apple, a little corn and some cereal grains. Taste is light bitter and light sour. Apple, corn, grain and a little skunk. Light bodied with a thin texture. Very soft carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not bad, especially for a beer that’s past its prime by about 3 years. I’d like to try it fresh some time.
