COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an American Amber Ale. Cloudy from the yeast, this moderately rich ale is just bitter enough to balance the sweetness of the malt. Grain from Washington Island is used in this brew, but it is not the dominating malt.

Poured amber with a thin head. Roast malt and caramel aroma. Taste was nutty with grassy hops and toasted malt. Maybe a bit thin.

Caramel malt sweetness with enough toastiness and bitterness to balance. Nothing wrong with it, but not worth buying again

Golden copper color, slightly hazy with a thin white head. Flavor and aroma are grainy and slightly sour with a hint of toffee. Body is mildly sweet and malty.

Lighter than the Amber, and less bitterness to it. A bit watery, but good none the less. Light caramel and toast malts with some grass and floral hops. Balance is good, titling toward the malt.

Pours amber gold into the glass with a very thin, mostly dissipating head. Very few bubbles. Nose is simple grain and hops. Fairly creamy on the palate, taste is of bread and sourmash with a bit of hops on the end for a nice dry finish. Only an OK beer from Capital, not on a par with most of their beer. Pairs well with burgers, brats and dogs.

An OK selection from a very good brewer. It tastes like a fairly standard macro lager to me. On first taste, it was fairly sweet. There was no particular characteristic in taste or aftertaste that distinguished this beer. They say it is made from local grains, and that is probably all that differentiates this brew from the hundreds of other similar brews out there. There was a definite grainy after taste but nothing that I would consider distinguishing.

I guess I don’t know what I expected but I was kinda disappointed anyway. What I got was a beer that, from a 12-oz. bottle, pours a clear (yes, clear)* light amber with a thin white head. A little lacing sticks around. Faint grainy aroma. Some vanilla and moderate nuttiness on the tongue, followed by a very subtle bitterness. Nothing nasty in the taste, but nothing exciting either. To me, this seemed like a watered-down Moose Drool. Sorry, it didn’t do much for me. -------& said it would be hazy, but it was as clear as the proverbial bell.

Golden orange to amber; hazy Smells clean and lager-like with detectable citrus. Tastes malty with some cramel, doughy bread, and a faint nuttines. A touch of bitterness but hardly a hop presence. Tastes strong and similar to Fat Tire. Has a creamy mouthfeel and sweet finish. Not bad.
