2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
I guess I don’t know what I expected but I was kinda disappointed anyway. What I got was a beer that, from a 12-oz. bottle, pours a clear (yes, clear)* light amber with a thin white head. A little lacing sticks around. Faint grainy aroma. Some vanilla and moderate nuttiness on the tongue, followed by a very subtle bitterness. Nothing nasty in the taste, but nothing exciting either. To me, this seemed like a watered-down Moose Drool. Sorry, it didn’t do much for me.
-------& said it would be hazy, but it was as clear as the proverbial bell.

Cloudy Brownish Copper Color, Medium Small Head, Light Thin Lacing. Faint Toasted Malt, Stale Hop Aroma. Toasted Malt, Bready, Light Earth, Slight Sweetness at Finish. Body On Lighter Side. Easy to Drink. Nothing Too Bad, Nothing Stands Out Too Much. Decent Enough. Worth A Shot...

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
355ml bottle, twist off. Old Rate. As standard ofa red ale/amber ale as it gets, now they have an ipa version of this and it still isn’t convincing.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 ounce bottle from Steve’s Mineral Point, Madison. Pours a clear copper with some fine floating particles. There’s a weak attempt at a head but what’s there fades quickly and completely making the beer appear flat. Aroma of toasted malts. The taste is toasted malts, nuts and a hoppy finish. Medium bodied. Nice.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle from Steve’s Liquor and More in Madison, WI. Pours a crystal clear, pale copper colored body with a thin, frothy, off-white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is sweeter, cereal grains and caramel malts with a nice toastiness. A bit nutty with a light earth. Flavor is similar. Grainy, toasty cereal malts with a light caramel sweetness. A bit bready with some nuts and a light earthy hop to balance. Finishes smooth and somewhat dry with a light, balanced bitterness. Medium length aftertaste following a medium body and light-moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty average amber ale. Easy drinking and well balanced with nothing that stands out, but nothing that detracts from enjoying this.

Made with locally grown wheat, or so says the bottle. I long ago graduated from the school of Ale’s, but there’s nothing wrong with nostalgia.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a lightly hazy orange color with a nice tight head and some good lace. The aroma is raw malt along with a little bit of garbage that fortunately fades very quickly. There is some mild fruitiness here that almost reminds me of apple skin which works nicely with the floral mild hoppy notes. The flavor is lots of toasty maltiness right up front. The beer is a tad on the sweet side but this is balanced somewhat with an earthy hop bitterness lingering in the background.
I can’t ever seem to find it in my heart to hate on a beer that is at worst a tad boring.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours amber gold into the glass with a very thin, mostly dissipating head. Very few bubbles. Nose is simple grain and hops. Fairly creamy on the palate, taste is of bread and sourmash with a bit of hops on the end for a nice dry finish. Only an OK beer from Capital, not on a par with most of their beer. Pairs well with burgers, brats and dogs.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[Tap] Pours a clear amber color with a fizzy head that quickly receded. Sweet caramel and slightly grainy aroma. Taste is of toasted caramel malts and light butterscotch. Light hopping throughout. Lingering sweetness in the finish. Smooth and highly drinkable stuff, but lacking in much depth.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a clear copper to amber body with a small fizzy off-white head that faded to a wispy film. The nose is quite grainy with a touch of oxidation, crystal malt, and some minimal hops. The flavor is on the sweet side with some toasty malt and just the lightest bit of bitterness on the late finish. Quite watery and thin with light fizzy carbonation. Pretty frightful quality from what I consider to be a pretty respectable brewery.
