COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Flame is a very interesting concept and there is not enough space to describe it here. Youíll have to visit our website for the complete story. But it will suffice to say that this is the "birth beer" of the concept. In this stage it is a blend of Autumnal Fire and a formula for something we whipped together and called "Imperial Fire." Combined they form the beginning of the Eternal Flame, a deeply amber hued Doppelbock that is 9.1 ABV of silky malt intensity.

These guys love thier doppelbocks. This one is a sweet amberish one with deep, rich malt tones.

2nd generation. This one has a new brew added to it Jacked Maibock. Dark amber, white head that leaves quick. Smells like a string malty brew. Tastes like a thick dobblebock, hints of rum, syrup, loads of malt and dark fruit. Has a nice thick syrup feel at first but finishes clean and crisp.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear copper gold with a small off white head leaving spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is caramel malt and honey. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt and brown sugar with sweet finish. Easy to drink, a very good doppelbock from Capital.

The aroma was sweet with vanilla and aged caramel, dry, yeasty undertones.. very well done for the style. Toffee, and vanilla at the core, with dry white peppery and yeasties around and throughout.. very nice earthy hop accents on the finish.

12 oz. bottle shared by bsuedekum- thanks again, Blake! Pours a clear, bright amber-red-orange color with a small off-white head. Super sweet aroma, with notes of toasted sugar, dried fruits, cookie, and toffee, with maybe a hint of spiciness. Flavor of sweet and caramel malts, sugar, red apple, nuts, and a bitter booziness throughout. Light-medium bodied, with a sweet, boozy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not sure what to make of this one. Maybe let it sit for a while? I donít know.

Given how delicious Autumnal Fire is, I was somewhat disappointed by this one. Very good, but not as good as the original.

Bottle, shared with Parksy. Medium orange amber, quite hazy, with a white head that settles quickly into a flat thin skim. Nice malty aroma and flavours: caramel, breadcrusts, dark cherries. Chewy malts, sweet and lipsmacking good! A delicious doppelbock!

Overall another great example of dopplebock with mild to little bittering and no hop flavor. Something of a unique tale that they will be using half of the brewed batch in future annual releases. This is something of a nice malty sweetness that is candy to the beer drinker.

Bottle - After cringing my way through too many boozy, messy sweet malt bombs from Capital, Iíve learned to leave these suckers hang out in the cellar for a couple months before I even think about trying them. This one pours rosy amber with a big foamy light tan. Nose is big, malty, and sweet, with sugary caramel notes, vanilla, and bread dough. A bit of plastic mingles with the yeast. Taste is about what youíd expect from the nose. Big bread notes--mostly dough--come through in waves, with the caramel/toffee sweetness mixing in with lots of alcohol warmth. Big thick body, slick and with minimal carbonation bite. Really sweet for my tastes, though itís a nice changes when Iím in the mood for something big. Oh, and weird that Capital put out a doppelbock finally. Havenít seen that from them before.
