COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Malted barley lends to the depth of malt character that is balanced out by some hop bittering with the addition of candied sugars. Jacked is Maibock with an unexpected kick!

Bomber. Poured fiery orange with a short, dense beige head. The aroma picked up lots of warm honey and related, kind of adjuncty sugars.. some leafy accents, but just too many sugars. The flavor found honey, molasses, and a little maple sweetness at the core, with earthy hops and a bit of peppery alcohol around.. finished sweet with a kick of alcohol warmth. Medium-bodied and too sweet on the palate.. messy and not very cohesive.

Bottle - Deep amber pour with a soapy tan head. Nose is grainy malt, lightly soured and yeasty, with some alcohol heat lurking beneath. Not much in the way of hops, and has a sugary sweetness to it. Taste is...whoa, daddy...pretty sweet. Tastes like candi sugar and dry, bready malt. Astringent booziness and butterscotch in the finish. Not really smooth, but I feel like several months in the cellar let this come together a bit based on some of the other reviews. Still--disjointed. Feels a bit like a headache in a bottle, what with the ABV and the residual sharpness of it all. Feels smooth in the mouth, though slick and a bit watery. Very weird beer, and not one I’d like to re-visit.

22 oz. bottle, consumed on 3-29-13. Scents of grape, cherry, chocolate, carob, lemon, muffin, caramel, sweet white wine, and taffy. I wish the smell were stronger and less ordinary. Pours a clear, copper-brass. Bright and attractive. Effervescent. Small amount of beige head. Produces some lacing. Fruity taste features sugar, white grape juice, red apple, orange, and caramel flavors. Begins sweet – excessively so, in fact, though otherwise enjoyable – but a matzo-like dryness emerges upon multiple sips. Dry finish and light dry aftertaste. Medium to full body. Smooth and lively in the palate. A solid beer overall but one that seems like it could and should be more noteworthy.

Pitting this against a NB Hoppy Bock in a side by side. This one is a darker one with a deep amber pour, definitely not as stunning in the appearance. The smell is also entirely different. This one s sweet and candy-like. Smells like fruitcake and rum with a bit of fermented berry. The flavor is also sweet and candylike, it has a certain tartness to it and very distinct malt tones that are almost honey or marzipan-like. It isn’t super hoppy as you would expect. Its like a cheap Czech high-alcohol version of the style. Overall the NB totallt outclasses this one. A dud from capital.

22 oz bottle (from Treasure Island Foods) pours a dark amber/copper color with small disappearing off-white head and little lacing. Aroma is full of caramel, brown sugar, honey, and molasses - a sweet malt bomb. Taste is sweet with hardly any hops presence and a bit of booze in the finish. Body is medium with slight carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. I’ve had some very good beers from Capital, but this is definitely not one of them. Needs more balance.

Enjoyed this medium to dark style bock brew. Had on tap at Mickey’s Tavern in Madison Wisconsin in a pint glass. Pours medium to dark brown with a stiff fizziness and a nice brown sugar note. Great brew!

Bomber. Deep orange, bordering brown with minimal head. Aroma is heavy in Belgian candy, malt syrup, booze and butter. Flavor is more Belgian candy, toffee, malt syrup, faint fruitiness, and a mild butter flavor. Boozy. Slick mouthfeel. Honestly, this needs to be cleaned up big time. Low and slow - let the yeast work! Little to no hop presence and certainly not the German noble hop presence to make this anywhere near authentic. There’s pushing style parameters and then there’s this - a malt bomb of a beer, malt liquor. From a brewery that basically got me into craft beer...speechless.

Bomber, pours clear amber-orange with small white head. Noticeable alcohol legs. Nose is big caramel sweetness, a hint of spice, some nice vanilla notes. Sticky mouthfeel, sweet caramel again, finishes slightly bitter. Interesting beer

Reddish amber. Small white head Smells malty for sure, maybe caramel. Initial taste was very malty, but grew on me quickly. A sweet side to it, a little caramel.
