COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Ojibwe, wild rice is known as Manoomin. In Bavaria, Doppelbock beer names end in -ator. Manoomator is a bilingualized term describing a Doppelbock with wild rice included in the grist. The result is a malt richness tempered by a unique nutty fruitiness. How to describe? Intriguing!

Dark reddish brown, almost no head. Aroma is a little overripe fruit, some sweet and sour. Flavor follows nose. Very well balanced and perfect finish.

toffee raisin coffee smell and taste. Also a fruity taste, very slight bitter aftertaste, which I only taste every once in a while. Nice dark brown color, golden in the light. So many flavors in this beer, but all mixed masterly. Delicious.

Bottle @ Brad’s house. Pours a clear dark burnt orange appearance with a light brown head. Light booze, rich caramel, toffee, fairly sweet, grassy aroma. Candy, rich caramel, toffee, light chocolate, somewhat fruity, fairly sweet malty flavor though not overly cloying. Not bad.

12oz bottle, no date from Discount Liquor in Milwaukee. Clear Orange amber with a small off white head. Fruity yeast and toffee with some nuts and raisins and grape notes, good toasty malt background. Flavor much the same, stronger grape notes. Not really all that sweet, though. Dry finish, light tongue numbing alcohol, scant bitterness. Light carbonation, full body. Pretty tasty.

Bottle pours reddish orange with medium white head. Aroma sweet and bready. Taste dull with caramel , bread, nuts and not much else. Metallic at times. Finish manly a continuation of the taste, slight nutty dryness. Full palate without being syrupy or sticky.

I enjoy most of the Capitol Square series but there’s just not a lot going on with this beer.

Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a dark clear copper with a thin head, aroma is sweet with some caramel and a hint of dark fruit, the flavor has a decent amount of caramel mixed in with a little bit of fruit in the finish, really doesn’t blow me away all that much.

12oz bottle: pours a clear deep copper with a stringy-lacing off-white head. Has a lightly sweet toasty caramel and rice nose with a touch of light fruits. Starts with good fullness and an authentic biscuity light caramel sweetness with some huskiness and a touch of melon. Finishes slightly warming and semi-sweet. True to style and enjoyable.

Received a 12 FL. OZ. bottle of this in a trade w/ ChrisF. Poured from the Maroon/Gold labeled bottle into a 12oz Schlafly Tulip Glass. Has no freshness date to be found but a $4.09 sticker on the front label. Aroma- A very sweet and strong aroma. Tons of caramel, malt, and dark fruits even!?!? Slight booziness but may be from the higher a.b.v. in this Bock. Appearance- Pours a 1 finger, bubbly head that has average retention. The body color is a dark amber/brown and semi-hazy. Leaves good lacing behind. Flavor- A very rich example of this style with touch of dark fruits and sugar again. A bit toasty from the roasted grains and has a medium hop bitterness on the finish. Well represented! Mouthfeel- Medium-Full Bodied, Medium Carbonation, Sweet, and very fruity on the finish. Not very tradition. Overall Impression- A nice Dopplebock but I question, could this be passed as an Eisbock? Very strong for the style but enjoyed almost everything about it. Glad I got to enjoy something from this brewery! Have been looking forward to a Capital Square brew since I was in MN. Get some of this if your a Bock fan!

Light brown color with a small head. Slight buttery and grain aroma. Quite fruit heavy. Strong, dark berry flavor. Light grainy. The wild rice contributes a pile of fruit character, and not much nuttiness, which is quite the opposite of most wild rice beers I find.

From surdyks, in bottle. Pour had very frothy bubbly tall head, over an inch. Taste was very unique, although not the wild rice you would expect. Very much an ale with a nutty background, and a tinge of fruit. Could not decipher much of a wild rice flavor, I believe to me it was mostly imagined there. Very boozy back end, alcohol was not hidden well.
