A classic Wisconsin Lager at itís finest. Harking back to an era where Supper Clubs were In Vogue and Wisconsin had numerous regional breweries making their version of American Style Lagers. You know, back when these types of beers exhibited regional soul. And many of these beers were enjoyed during an evening spent at a local Supper Club, visiting with friends and family and having a good dinner. Supper Club is an eminently drinkable version of a true American Lager. Featuring a greater depth of refreshing malt character than the mass marketed versions of the style, Supper Club is clean yet satisfying.

12 ounce bottle from Woodmans Madison West. Pours a clear gold with note much of a head. Aroma of grainy, honey and very faint hop notes. The taste is sweet malts, some toastiness, grain, faintly hoppy finish. Thin bodied. Itís be nice if this had a hop cone or two in it, but its not bad. Bit too sweet.

Boring. One word sums up this beer. It is a pale gold with notes of diacetyl and weak grian.

Can. Corn and barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with large white head. Sweet corn/barley malt and hay flavor. Okay - this is exactly what Wisconsin needed - another mediocre pale lager.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle is clear yellow, white head slightly fizzy. Aroma brought notes of sweet biscuit, touch of yeast and lemony notes, hints of grass as well. Taste is a bit weak, but slightly bitter grass and lemon peel, hints of sweet biscuit finish fairly clean. Just ok.

Can thanks to Sarah! Pours a pale yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount sweet grains and cereal with not much of a hop presence. Flavor is similarly sweet with cereal and sweet grains. A bit one note overall.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Bottle. Wow - Iím impressed. This is a great example of perfecting a (in this case, disadvantaged) style of beer. What can you really do with a Pale Lager? Well, this, for example. Clear yellow-gold pour with a minimal white head. Nice aroma of sweet caramel and malt. Carbonation is perfect. Light on the tongue, but not extremely watery. Simple yet pleasant taste of grain/grass and malt. And absolutely nothing off-putting about this. Kudos, Capital - you nailed this one.

DuffMan (8041) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 25, 2013
On tap @ the ‹ber Tap Room in the Wisconsin Cheese Shop, Milwaukee. Clear light gold, simple light grainy profile, no real hop presence to speak of. Not much to say really.
