kseecs16 (774), Naperville, Illinois, USA May 29, 2009 Bottle. Pours a pale clear amber with a lace of off-white head that accumulates at the edge of the glass. Very little lacing. Floral hops aroma with a rich malty, spicy body. Light bodied, very mild, some spiciness in the finish. A bit soapy, hint of toast. Thin.
DrnkMcDermott (1715), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Mar 15, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Rather clear, light gold pour, slight head. Smell has a bit of hoppiness, not much. Makes me wary that this is going for the megabrew market. However, the taste does redeem it. Peppery hop up front, almost German in character, with some citrus to the back. Goes down nice and fizzy, like a bar keg draft. Actually tastes nice cold, too. Sharper hops in the finish. HonkeyBra (1022), Lemont, Illinois, USA Feb 1, 2009 Golden pour with some head. Aroma has a slight impression of hops and some sweet malt. Flavor is light citrus, a bit of poop, and some maltiness. It’s ok. kimcgolf (765), Dacula, Georgia, USA Jan 24, 2009 Pours to a golden lager-type color with thin skim of a white head that lingered shortly and left little lacing. Aroma was faint lemony citrus with just a hint of hops. Mouthfeel was a slight tingle-slight skunk mix, and the taste was a continuation of the citrus fruit found in the nose. Rounded off to a finish that was dry, a shade bitter and a little skunky.
Not much to this one. msante79 (578), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Dec 28, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours light golden amber with white head. Aroma is hops and lemon citrus. Flavor is well balanced between malt and hops with citrus notes. Could drink this all day. It may not be overly complex but makes up with balance and drinkability. marchcow (611), Coralville, Iowa, USA Dec 1, 2008 Sweetish citrus lemon aromas with a hint of wheat and dough. Golden yellow with a white foamy head. Flavor is slightly bitter with some hay, light hoppiness, some citrus and wheat. Palate is light and crisp. Duration is bitter with a mellowing breadlike final finish. mcjay (277), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Oct 30, 2008 Nice golden color with a medium off white head and very good carbonation. Aroma and taste both have a nice hop to malt balance. Seems a little tame for a pale ale but still remains rich and flavorful. noncaloric (459), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Oct 27, 2008 Updated: Mar 9, 2009Nice grapefruit hops aroma, light honey malts. Medium clear amber, thin white head, no lace. Strong citrus hops on the front with honey sweetness, then finishes a little off; the hops are more bitter than aromatic in a way that doesn’t work well with the biscuity malt finish. Medium body, frothy carbonation, prickly hops.
