Hops with an American accent. Disarmingly drinkable.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2007 Light golden to straw color. Smallish off-white head. Head caramel malt aromas with light citric zest and a touch of pine wood. Full feel with tight bubbles that carry it across the palate. Fairly dry, in that there is not much sweetness to this one. Some light caramel and a touch of bread dough that is displaced quite quickly by grapefruit zest. I touch too bitter for for my palate, at least without some more sweetness and malt to back it up. Light pine wood come back in at the finish and linger. Needs some more sweet malt or hops flavors to liven this one up. As Iím near the end, things have warmed up a touch and the flavors do seem to be coming out some more. Iíll need to re-evaluate with another bottle soon. Re-evaluated the next day. Still seems like a premium lager with an ale yeast. not enough malt depth.

12oz bottle, no date. Clear honey golden with a small white head, fading to a ring and a thin film rather quickly. Aroma of Cascades (sweaty and citrusy with a bit of pine), and a fair amount of sweet caramel malts. Flavor makes me happier with some brighter citrus notes and soft pine bitterness, sweetened up with some grass and caramel. Light body with light to moderate carbonation. A good APA to style. I need to enter my notes from the brewery, as I remember this being better on tap.

[Growler, thanks Skyview] Pours clear gold with a small white head. Aroma of a lot of grain and grapefruit. Taste is not very bitter, a lot of grain throughout with some grapefruit at the end. Not the best APA out there, but not the worst either.

Bottle. Pours is clear, light amber, thin head. Aroma is a little citrus and spice. Taste is more citrus, pine and the slightest bit of earthy malt. Nice bitterness and a little astringent. A little light bodied, but VERY drinkable, you can down a 6er of this easy.

A growler carted back by Skyview. Gold color with a little head. Strong aroma of citrus and grass. The grass stays in the forefront for flavor; citrus falls to the background. Not much bitterness, but an overall well made beer.

Thanks to skyview for sharing. A better than average pale ale. Great hop aroma and full bodied hop flavor with citrus and grass. Cloudy gold colored.

Bottle. Super clean light copper with a small head. Nice carbonation with bubbles showering to the surface. Good looking pour. Aroma is light hops, pine, malt, grapefruit. Flavor is hops, bitter pine, citrus, malt. Finish is crisp, dry, and slightly bitter. I found it to be quite refreshing.

Sampled on draught at the brewery taproom in Middleton, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden pale yellow brew with a thin white head that quickly dissolves to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of light bread malt with an abundance of grapefruit zest, piney hops and tart lemon. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation with smooth and creamy flavor that has a good balance of bready malt and citrus zest. Finish has a malty flavor at first and then a lingering mild bitter aftertaste. Received word that Capital Brewery will be bottling this pale ale soon.

Draft at the brewery. Poured a clear orange color. Head was white and two fingers high. Aroma was hop dominated; grassy, citrusy, and kind of sweaty. Tasted of biscuity malt with a touch of caramel. There were also some citrusy hops. Delicately sweet at then end with some lingering caramel.
